Trip Report The No Rain, Red Card, Vanna White, July JOURNEY! *COMPLETED*

Those of you who are tired of reading about my Disney escapades can exit now, no hard feelings. Those of you who have read any of my other reports know what you're in for and I hope I can keep your interest. I really appreciate your kind comments.

To that end I will start by playing tag ~ @TrolleyFollower91 @Doc Disney @TheMouseFan @MinnieM123 @Tiggerish @BWK05 @Gabe1 @samantha788 @coachwnh @Figment Forever @figmentfan423 @epcotisbest @Zipitidoda @MerMom1981 @LisaBelle @Matty30 @Courtney6682 @bee @lostpro9het @cgersic @sheriffwoody @blgauger @meganwdw @fractal @MississippiBelle @jrogue @ScarletBegonias @LadyBelle @disneypearl @Tony the Tigger @tcool123 @prfctlyximprct @Longers @gwhb75 @Beckett @Ciara @ajrwdwgirl @FlaggNL @mishel635 @myhappyplace

Warning: The following picture may bring on extreme sadness. A box of Kleenex may be required.

Our time in the MK had come to an end. While it is never easy to take that one last look at Cinderella's beautiful castle, it was especially difficult for Em this morning.

Why so hard? Well, Em doesn't know when she'll be back. She doesn't have another trip planned. :jawdrop:

Parting is such sweet sorrow.

A final wave good-bye.

Wednesday, con't

But wait.....just because we were leaving MK did not mean our day of fun was ending!

As we made our way towards the exit it seemed to be the right time to leave, as crowds of people were pouring into the park. None of those folks were going to complete 8 attractions in a couple of hours, even with fastpasses. And the high humidity was bound to cause some crankiness and short tempers, both in children and adults.

Em and I escaped more monorail frustration because where we were headed required us to take a bus. (Although I do wonder if the addition of that train was truly providing the "transportation ease" that was promised!)

We had a lengthy wait for a bus. However, we didn't mind watching all the comings and goings. We noticed some funny sayings that scroll across the screens on the buses ~
Hakuna Matata on the bus bound for AK
My other half is a magic carpet on an arriving MK bus

Our bus did come (they always do!) and we arrived just in time for our lunch ADR at

We were seated immediately at a small table in the corner, providing a great view of the interior of the restaurant. It was also next to the "to-go" ordering spot, so we got to eavesdrop on a few conversations.

A couple walks up to the register and the woman orders one scoop of butter pecan ice cream. The man, in a very condescending tone, says: " You're only getting a single scoop? NO! For a dollar more, get the double scoop!" The woman murmurs something about not wanting that much ice cream. The man ignores her and says, "She'll have a double scoop."

He seems like a real gem.

View from our table:

Shortly after I took this shot, a family with a little boy walks in the door. The boy excitedly runs over to the large object on the left and shouts, "It's a giant juice box, Mommy!"

You may not realize just how small Beaches and Cream is. In my quest to be ever-helpful to my WDWMagic friends, I counted for you ~
6 4-tops
1 2-top (ours)
3 booths
12 counter seats

And that is why it is hard to get a table!

What will we have for lunch?

Whoops, that's the dessert menu! Now Em, we need real food first!

I don't know, he sounded like a winner to me. What girl doesn't want a man who forces her to get a double scoop?':p

If you remember our visit to The Plaza on day 1, I complained about our surly server. Let's just say the gal we had at Beaches and Cream wasn't a whole lot better. (Is there some connection between sour servers and ice cream joints that I'm unaware of?) When we lunched at B&C in April, I was able to get a "cheeseburger" with grilled chicken instead of ground beef. (There is a specialty grilled chicken sandwich on the menu with toppings and multigrain bun that I don't care for.)

When I asked SS (surly server) to substitute chicken for the beef patty, she retorted, "We don't do that."
"But I was able to do so in April."
"I will see." <Eye roll.>
Ironically, the cheeseburger is priced higher than the chicken sandwich. I told SS I was willing to pay the extra $2 to make the substitution.

Thankfully, someone in the kitchen liked me. :hungry:

It was missing the lettuce and tomato, which I really wanted, but decided it was wise not to poke the bear.

Em enjoyed her "like it comes straight off the menu" Patty Melt.

Though Em's favorite sundae is the No Way Jose, there was No Way Jose she'd be able to finish one after her Patty Melt. However she did have room for a small hot fudge sundae, sans whipped cream.

The yummy marshmallow sundae in the background was mine ~ all mine!

With the heat index down there, and money flying out of people's pockets at warp speed, I think that this man ended up deranged, after a few days at WDW. Somehow, he thought he was bestowing "sweet nothings" on his lady, but something got lost in translation . . . :cautious: :p :D

Our anniversary was the other day and we went out to a local steak place. My wife could not decide on dessert, there was cheesecake, carrot cake and apple pie with ice cream to choose from (there were some chocolate choices too but chocolate causes problems for her so we don't consider them very often). I teased her about not being able to make up her mind. She told me to decide and surprise her as she had to go to the ladies room. Well, she was surprised when she got back and soon the waitress brought, and per my instruction, put cheesecake, carrot cake and the apple pie all three in front of her. "Surprise." I said.
She pretended to be aggravated about it briefly, but she could not hide her big smile long, and I ordered the no sugar added cheesecake so I was able to help her with it. And, I might have had a bite or three of the sugary stuff I should not be eating.
We were in Orlando just prior to our anniversary this year. We often go the week of our anniversary but went a week earlier this year because we just wanted a quick getaway. A couple of years ago we went to CG for our anniversary then watched the fireworks from the outdoor viewing area after the meal. No CG this year, but triple dessert near home was fun anyway, even if the mean old hubby made her have too much dessert. Too much dessert, now that is a problem.

Happy bellies full of ice cream, we waddled out of the restaurant. Though it was still plenty hot outside, we did not mind the walk along Crescent Lake. The new safety fencing installed along the shore didn't bother us either.

We continued on to our last park for this vacay.
I see London, I see France....
