Trip Report The No Rain, Red Card, Vanna White, July JOURNEY! *COMPLETED*

So my most recent trip report was 44 years in the making ~ this one has taken only a month :). And for any of you keeping score, this is my 5th trip report. This year. I have been to WDW five times in 2016 and have plans to return in September. And October. And December. (Please don't hate me.)

Those of you who are tired of reading about my Disney escapades can exit now, no hard feelings. Those of you who have read any of my other reports know what you're in for and I hope I can keep your interest. I really appreciate your kind comments.

To that end I will start by playing tag ~ @TrolleyFollower91 @Doc Disney @TheMouseFan @MinnieM123 @Tiggerish @BWK05 @Gabe1 @samantha788 @coachwnh @Figment Forever @figmentfan423 @epcotisbest @Zipitidoda @MerMom1981 @LisaBelle @Matty30 @Courtney6682 @bee @lostpro9het @cgersic @sheriffwoody @blgauger @meganwdw @fractal @MississippiBelle @jrogue @ScarletBegonias @LadyBelle @disneypearl @Tony the Tigger @tcool123 @prfctlyximprct @Longers @gwhb75 @Beckett @Ciara @ajrwdwgirl @FlaggNL @mishel635 @myhappyplace

Ok, Kona, here we go....:D

Tuesday, July 26

Breakfast consisted of those highly-nutritious Entenmann's donuts again with some in-room coffee for Em....I was serious about not stepping foot in Capt. Cook's another morning!

Unfortunately, there was an annoyance we couldn't avoid. Raise your hand if you have a guess. Anyone?

If you guessed monorail, you'd be correct. See, Em and I wanted to be at Epcot for rope drop. Staying at a monorail resort should make that easy-peasy, right? After all, transportation to the parks begins one hour prior to park opening. Silly us assumed that would include the monorail.

As Buzz Lightyear would say, "Not today!"

We had to take a bus. A bus that dropped us off nowhere close to the entrance. But we still made it before guests were allowed through the turnstiles. The bald backpack man (below) and his family thought they were in line to board the monorail...they wanted to go to the MK! :hilarious: Once the line began to move, his wife noticed their error. Let's just say he was NOT happy.

Since the turnstiles had opened at 8:45 a.m., we were kept here for another 10 minutes:

No shade. And it was HOT! Em and I were going "old school" this morning, heading for Soarin' without a FP. So were most of the guests you see here. But the CMs kept the crowd under control as they set the walking pace to the Land.

The standby queue has a new interactive game.

This was so much more fun than the former game! There were multiple choice questions and it was similar in format to the "Fastest Finger" segment of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. You don't need to use a phone unless you want your score counted.

Our wait passed quickly and soon we were airborne. Neither of us had previewed the new film and we had no idea what to expect.

In a word ~ Amazing! I loved it!

The quality of the old film was so poor that the new scenes really popped off the screen. The use of CGI did not bother me a whit, as I was enamored by the beauty of the images. Yes, the scene changes are not quite seamless and I miss the original soundtrack (though the new one has some "Soarin-esque" elements to it) but I came off wanting to do it again and again...something I have not felt with the original for a very long time.

You have restored my faith! Happy to see the new soarin was enjoyed :D

We waved goodbye to the UoE and began our trek to World Showcase. Made a left onto the Promenade and soon found ourselves here.

Mexico is one of my favorite pavilions. I love the ambiance, the shops, the San Angel Inn and of course the boat ride ~

It's a party!

How cute are these grandpas?! (Oops, abuelos!)

You know I love me some fireworks!

And the vintage Three Caballeros! :inlove:

Oh, @Gabe1 ~ guess what we were given?

The queue had some interesting details.

Soon we were in the presence of royalty.

Anna complimented the flowers on my dress and said it was very "summery." She said that when she wears her summer dress, she can't get too close to Olaf because he's allergic to flowers and he sneezes off his carrot nose! :hilarious:

Elsa was her usual regal self.

And for moi: (@LisaBelle knows what this is!)
I most certainly know what that is…..my favorite meal! I want it right now.
I am soooo late to this TR! I didn't get an email alert when you tagged me :( and I have been crazy busy now that Allie's volleyball season and school are in full swing. I have a huge class of 30 kindergarteners and I am so exhausted that I haven't had a chance to read any TRs.
When I finally got a chance to get on the boards tonight I saw the alert that you had mentioned me and jumped right to that spot in your TR. Now that I've commented on that I am going back to start from the beginning :).

I'm glad you finally found us! :geek: I can't imagine having 30 kindergarteners, even with an assistant. (I think our area caps it at 22 with an assistant.) But each and every one of those tykes is fortunate to have you as their teacher! Have a great year!

I'm here I'm here! Thanks for the tag.. Beginning of the school year has had me crazy busy! But I'm all caught up and loving every bit of your TR. My belly is longing for some WDW food after seeing all of your yummy meals. :inlove: I can't wait to go back to the Poly to try an Island Sunset!!!
Since @TrolleyFollower91 is also a teacher, I understand completely about the crazy busy start of the school year. Thank you for catching up and following along! Enjoy your school year!

Em noticed the standby wait for Anna and Elsa was only 10 minutes. (Remember when people would wait hours to meet them? Wasn't it like 5 hours for you, @coachwnh?) Since we weren't "adulting" today, we had to go say hello.
I waited a long time, but not that long. I enjoyed people watching while I waited . It was a trade off. I didnt want to ride MS orange that early in the morning, so I got a pretzel and waited.

Love your trip report so far! My Mom and I were fantasizing about a mother/daughter trip in the future, but unfortunately I don't think it'll be any time soon. That's so cool that you guys saw Vanna White. It sounds like you saw a lot of interesting things with all the medical emergencies going on around you.

Just wanted to comment on Mousekeeping. We didn't notice if our rooms were made up late since we were basically in the parks all day during our trip, but I was disappointed that there was no towel animals left in the room when he came back. Do they not do that anymore?

Thanks for your kind comments. :) Very few Mousekeepers do towel animals anymore. It seems to be one of the "niceties" that was cut. :(
