With the Happiest Celebration on Earth coming to a close, and new attraction construction seeming to slow (at least for large attractions), the time is right to start thinking about the next major addition to WDW (let's hope those that make these decisions feel the same way )

Currently, some minor attractions are under construction:
*Pirates of the Caribbean upgrades (Opens July 7)
*Finding Nemo: The Musical (opens November 12th)
*The Seas with Nemo and Friends (Opens Fall 2006)
*Unannounced Timekeeper Replacement (opening unknown)

After these attractions are complete, where should the next MAJOR attraction be built?...and what should it be?

I feel that the Magic Kingdom could use an E-ticket in Adventureland and in Mickey's Toontown.

Fantasyland is already too crowded
Tomorrowland has enough attractions
Liberty Square is a nice area the way it is.
Frontierland already has 2 E-tickets.

That takes care of the Magic Kingdom.

Epcot...One attraction that has always jumped around in my head is a Mary Poppins Attraction in the UK. I've always wanted to go on a Jolly Holiday and jump through a sidewalk chalk drawing. :)

MGM...too many things need to be done...but...as far as E-ticket goes...
Sunset already packs in the crowds...I think another attraction down near LMAX is necessary. A Wizard of Oz or Willy Wonka attraction would be great...and the marketing is endless.

Animal Kingdom...
One more E-ticket should do this park justice...but not a THRILL...Anything but a THRILL ride. I'd like to see an attraction showcasing how animals protect themselves in different ways...and use cool effects to do it. Like the chameleon for instance...you could have the same effect that is in the Monster's ride in DL. The scent of the skunk, the cobra and how it spreads it's hood to appear larger, etc.

The Disney Studios. Tony Baxter's Robocoaster or Indiana Jones Adventure.

The Studios has the biggest need at the moment. The Magic Kingdom could easily have a new E-ticket by rejuvinating Space Mountain.

The idea was brought up about a need for a water ride at the Disney Studios...

I think it would be a great idea to have one, as all of the other parks seem to have at least one...

Maybe (and this is just IMO) they will put that Pirates of The Caribbean Water Adventure in the Disney Studios, if the films succeed...

I agree....I think the future of the MK is with reinventing the classic attractions while adding new minor attractions. A reinvented Space MT, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Fantasyland Dark rides, COP - would do wonders for the park, while adding small attractions (Philharmagic, SGE, replacement to Timekeeper) will keep people interested in the park.

Any MAJOR addition to the MK needs to involve significant "floorspace" additions....the park is fairly crowded now, I would hate to visit if the park were any busier.

I think Tomorrowand Speedway should be removed. They could add 2 or 3 nice size rides in it's place. I can't understand why Disney has such a noisy, smelly ride taking up such a large amount of space in the park.

I agree with you but the reason they don't replace it is because every 5 year-old boy in the country wants to drive a car and they get to at Disney.

I would like to see it reinvented in the fashion that the MKDL version is being built....outside the berm, electric, quiet, stink-free...

i have been thinking about this for a while now. how about instead of removing it,re-theme the cars to look like small spaceships or something, cover it up and have it look like you are racing around the galaxys.it could be like the tomorrowland galactic space race.

just and idea i had, i thought it would be cool

Exactly.
E-Ticket at the Studios, refurbs at MK and Epcot.
I'm glad we're all in agreeance!

Where I want a quality ride to go next is the Studios. I don't want a major thrill ride here, like ToT or RnRC (which are unfortunately in the same corner, which doesn't help the already poor layout). I'd like a dark ride of some sort, further back in the park. probably around Millionaire sounds good. And also maybe do something with the backlot tour. Taking out residential street cut it down quite a bit, and there isn't that much production going on back there now, it seems rather dull besides Catastrophe Canyon. (Unless there really is more to the tour that I'm forgetting).

The Studios. Take out Millionaire and put in a Toy Story dark ride.

Replace "Toy Story" in that sentence with something not already done (we already have Toy Story themed rides) and I'd be happy.

Any dark ride would do it, really - it's just what Disney magic is all about for me, and it's a shame more of them don't exist.

Sharon L posted her views on the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway and it lead me to wonder, what is the possibility of a revamp of the attraction to a "Cars" theme? It's not something that I'd like to see or not see, just an idea.

the unofficial guide to wdw, had a "secret" in it last year that said they were doing this and supposedly make the cars more interactive. they will probably wait to see how well "Cars" actually does in theaters. they are hyping the heck out of it...

How about a cross between Buzz and Spider - Man?

I agree with all of this, especiall the idea of a Mary Poppins attaction.

Not just picture jumping, but laughing/flying and dancing on the roof tops!

I'd opt for a whole new park - A Dark Park, full of Disney Villains, with thrilling coasters matchings or exceeding those of USWF/IoA.
