Trip Report The Never-Ending Summer Of Disney *COMPLETED*

Seriously?!!

Can you believe it??

This is jaw-dropping news!!

If only.

Two things in life give me the blues ~ the end of summer and the end of a Disney vacation. A never-ending summer of Disney would be a dream come true! But I am certainly happy to “settle” for a WDW vacay in June....in July....and in August. 😊And rather than write three separate trip reports (and annoy @amjt660 when my *COMPLETED* report really isn’t 😉) I decided to take @Rista1313 ’s suggestion and post an ongoing travelogue, à la @blgauger style.

So let’s get started!

Vacation #1
June 16-24, 2018
Tuvalu, Woody and Em get pampered at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Was there rain? Any snarky Cast Members? Ridiculous guest behavior? A Magic meet-up? How many times did we watch Happily Ever After?

You’ll have to follow along to find out.

I have always wanted to try one of the signature restaurants not in park, but going in the heat, keeps us from trying one. DisneyB is not about wearing a collared shirt on vacation, 😑I might can twist his arm, but which would you choose, the dessert party for HEA, since we only saw it from the Poly? Or California Grill? We are going to do the Keys to the Kingdom tour too, so for this trip I can only do one or the other.
DisneyB wouldn’t necessarily have to wear a collared shirt to Cali Grill, a nice v-neck or Henley style would be perfectly fine. And Bermuda shorts are ok. If you are concerned about eating a big meal on a hot day, you could always share a couple apps or split an entree. The views from up there are stunning and although it’s not the best place to watch HEA (can’t see the castle projections and the fireworks are not “centered” around the castle), it is a unique view.

I loved the dessert party and would do it again. But the possibility of a rain out always exists and I have to admit I was nervous about the weather the whole day.

IMO you can’t go wrong with either one.

Why is it so hard for people to obey the simple command, “Please keep moving all the way down to the end of the row?” It’s not just a courtesy announcement but also a safety announcement when several hundred people are exiting and entering the theater at the same time. Honestly ~ are 8 seats closer to the middle of a row really going to give a superior view?

Apparently the party of inconsiderate snowflakes thought so. We watched all 8 of them CLIMB OVER a row of seats in order to sit in the middle of the row behind them....all the while the CM is pleading to keep moving down.

RUDE!

My wife and I like to make sure we hit everyone with our backpack/purse as we make our way past the people who stop in the middle of the row. Some toes may also get damaged in the process ;)

You know I had the same thought when I saw her!!

Yes there were two chairs on the balcony. However all of the top floor rooms have enclosed balconies, so if you are sitting down all you see is the wall in front of you. Balconies on the lower levels have open railings and provide a better view when sitting.

I’ve got July and August....thinking we might need someone for September since you’ve got October covered.

I got September covered!!

We’ll be gone by your arrival. I know you’ll have a fab time at the Poly. :inlove:

He would be okay with a v neck, he just hates collars in the heat. I am going to start calling him Grumpy, lol! Hmmm, we may go! I have always wanted to try it. The food looks ah-mazing! :) Thanks. 😊

That “Disneyland Florida 2018” T-shirt HAS to be an inside family joke ... and an hilarious one at that!

I had always thought that the additional ride instructions depicting the number of folks to a row, complete with large pictorials, was primarily to accommodate the non-English-speaking guests. (I also agree that they don’t hurt for insurance purposes). Plus they are cute! The one for the Mine Train is super cute!

Looking forward to your next summer trip! We are about 20 days out ourselves!!!
