The Muppets

I was wondering if anyone thought that perhaps there would be a Muppet meet and greet this year. The new Muppet Movie had a huge opening weekend and I know we saw it twice, lol. Someone once posted a pic of themselves at Hollywood Studios with Kermit and Piggy and I was hoping maybe they would be back. Any thoughts or knowledge of this?
Thanks!

Here's the thing with the Muppets -- I am not sure they know WHAT to do with them....

Despite the rave reviews and the great opening weekend, the Muppet Movie itself was a financial flop...it made less than 100M in the US, and not much more internationally...that's considered a flop these days...

As evidenced by the lack of any increase in Muppets merchandise at the park, even at the Muppet Store outside the movie theater, I think Disney has decided to let this one slide for now...

It wasn't a flop... Not by a longshot. It made back much more than it was made for, which therefore makes it successful. I'd love to see a Muppet Studios sign go into the Muppet Courtyard area (over by Tattoine Traders) and retheme Pizza Planet into a Muppet themed eatery. Add that and the Muppet Whatnot Workshop which was suppose to go in over there and you have yourself a fairly happy Muppets fan.

45 Mil budget
86.6 Mil Gross
101.6 Mil Worldwide gross

I would not call that a flop.

Anything that makes more than twice its budget is NOT a flop.

Well we have already seen move muppets merchandise at the Disney Stores (Kermit, Piggy, Walter stuff). Meet and greet? It's possible in my opinion.

Unfortunatley the Full body versions haven't been out since Stars & Motorcars parade left. The only other time the Muppets have been out is during the VoulentEAR parade in their puppet form.

I'm happy to wait on line to meet and get the autographs of Disney characters with my kids, but the ONLY character I personally would ever wait on line to take a photo with would be Kermit the Frog.

I think a meet and greet would be nice, if they use puppets. There is something about those life sized Muppets that kinnda scares me

Btw, It was a great thing that this movie made money, anything that makes Disney money is a good thing. What really got me was how many kids went and saw the movie, and enjoyed it ( I saw it, I liked seeing the Muppets back on the big screen, but it lacked comedy ). Also, from every child that I talked to who saw the movie, they all loved Animal

Bring it on my kids were raised with Kermy Miss Piggy, cookie monster.. Thats about all we had in the late 70's and 80's. There are so many others out there that do not appeal to kids these guys do BRING THEM BACK DISNEY are you listening.. Elmo is a huge hit with kids. I really cannot see why they can't develop it around the theater.. Toy Story is cute outside but nothing special inside. They need to move them over to the Saloon and make it Western for Toy Story.. I would love to go to that Chara meal..I am a child of the 50's and love TOY STORY all of them..

So What!!! NOT everyone frequents the board every day nor sometime for weeks. I never go beyond the first page of threads. just not enough time. Cannot someone be a newbie to questions on here without feeling like a dumbo for asking something..

That's why they invented the "search" function. :)

Regardless, that wasn't what I was talking about - I was talking about the fact that any Muppet thread turns into people saying it was a flop when it most certainly was not. ;)
