I do! We have a blurry picture of the show. (Taken without a flash, of course!:lookaroun) I've often wondered what happened to it. It left fairly quickly, I think. I remember a Lion King show that was similar to the current Little Mermaid, too. We enjoyed that one as well.

I believe the Lion King show you are referring to was in MK, where Philarmagic is now.

Well, I was wondering if my memory was faulty regarding the way Miss Piggy used to look, so I did a search and found this image:

I'm assuming that's from the Jim Henson days. And there she looks cute, like I remembered. Now here's a poster for the new movie, featuring the "new" Miss Piggy:

Egad. Now that, to me, doesn't look cute at all. Why are her eyes so tiny and so close together?

Yet another reason to give the movie a pass, I guess...even the new computer-generated Chipmunks didn't look that bad (and they were creepy!)

New one looks better.

Wrong sounding Muppets

You, sir, are still completely wrong!

And that Family Guy jokes is stupid, untrue and should not be used anymore!

Countrybearfan have you seen the movie? I have some of the Muppets sounded wrong, especially Kermit at times, I know this is a sensitive issue for you but I grew up with these characters I remember the original Muppet show from childhood and they still sound a little off. But that truly is the only thing wrong with this movie it's a fun movie that should bring the Muppets back to the forefront the last 30 min of the movie is hilarious.

Miss Piggy's face and features have constantly been reworked, even during Jim Henson's time. She's never had one specific "look." Here's a good resource that details her changes over the years: http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Miss_Piggy_Through_the_Years

Please remember that when discussing how you feel about how something looks, sounds, tastes it is just an opinion, it is not "wrong or right."

Let's stop throwing around terms like right and wrong when discussing matters of personal preference. If you can't present an opposing opinion in a polite fashion without getting angry or sarcastic, then please don't bother responding.

Interesting, thanks! Man, she looked bad in the beginning (but of course ALL fictional characters look bad in the beginning). But as the years passed, she seems to have become much prettier. (That's the Piggy I remember. I thought she was gorgeous when I was a kid). The Jim Henson studio really perfected her. But the article does seem to note that some changes, especially after Jim died, weren't all that great. Some of those later ones do look kinda bad to me. And the Piggy in the poster, IMO, looks dreadful. I almost didn't recognize her. :p

The Piggy in the poster does look a little bit off, but the one from the trailers looks spectacular. Almost exactly like she did in The Great Muppet Caper. Remember, different puppets are used for photographs than performances, and that's before they're Photoshopped.

I think this will be like Tron - if the movie is a smash hit then you'll hear talk of subsequent movies and potential synergy across the parks. If it's a luke warm response like Tron the chances are slimmer.

When I see "classic" Muppets - I always think Miss Piggy looks stoned. It's what instantly dates a Muppet clip to me as her look changed in the early 80's.

I hope for the new movie they correct a small issue Ive had with the newer Muppet projects. I really hope they throw the Muppets more instead of using CG or green screen. There's nothing funnier than them just throwing the puppet across the room when they fall or get hit by something. Like when they just threw the puppets out of the bus in the great muppet caper. Ahhh, classic stuff!:D

I would like to state that I am simply excited to see a Muppet movie.

I remember watching the re-runs of the Muppet Show when I was little in the late 80's early 90's, and then Muppets Tonight was on and I watched it all the time. I'm just really happy to see them on the big screen again, especially when everything not human is CG lately. Good ol' Muppet puppeteering.

Speaking of...remember the Muppet Yoda in Star Wars Phantom Menace? How they made him CG in Episodes 2 & 3? Well, this Muppet version has been digitally edited out for what else...a CG version. Sad.

I don't even care if the movie tanks, I'm gonna see it anyway and be happy.
