Being in the World between August 26th and September the 6th I had finally the opportunity to see the Main Street Electrical Parade again, which is one of my favorite childhood memories. When I came back from my first trip to the World (actually only MK) in 1982 I played the WDW-vinyl record with the MSEP-music on and on for hours and I loved especially the MSEP music. So it was a magical moment when I finally heard the music being played in Main Street again. But the rest of the parade was a little less than magic. I found it shorter than in the eighties and also less different music, I had problems of identifying the Disney-movie themes associated with the parade wagons. Did they really change it or did I only have a location with bad acoustics? And how was your impression of a resurrected classic? Did you like it more than Spectromagic?

I just saw the MSEP for my first time on Friday, though I've had many relatives that had seen the parade in the 70s and 80s and talked about it. While this is Disneyland's Main Street Electrical Parade on loan to Walt Disney World (The MK's MSEP carbon copy parade is somewhere in storage) it was still good nonetheless.

The music has changed. It's a completely updated version of the hoedown music from the 70s. Also new music from the movies was added into each float. I'm ok with it. I'm 50/50 on the whole changing of the music. As for the floats, the only one I'm sure is missing are the Dumbo floats from the Circus Scene. There is new music for this scene (not included in the current parade) but new music was written for the Dumbo scene. Also missing is the Blue Fairy float, replaced by Tinkerbell.

I have to give this parade some respect.....it's old! But, it looks cosmetically great....my only thing is......wow.....it's nothing more then Christmas Lights strung on black parade floats.

I like the MSEP and Spectromagic for their own unique ways. MSEP is fun and Spectromagic is Elegant. If Spectro could be shown throughout much of the year at the MK, and the MSEP shown on special days throughout the year or through an annual summernighttastic then I'd be all for it.

I loved seeing it again. Last time I saw MSEP was in 2001 at DCA and before that '99 in the Magic Kingdom. Only thing I didn't like was the new music, they changed it too much. Either way I'm glad to see it back and still prefer it to Spectro.

I don't care for the new music at all. The original was so much better. Floats look pretty good though. Just wish they'd put the Blue Fairy back in her rightful place at the head of the parade.

I enjoyed seeing it again (saw first time in 1999) but now that i have I most diffentlay like Spectro much better. I thought before seeing it again that it was better but not any more. Heres to hoping Spectro is back by 8/19/2011!!!
