The most annoying thing at WDW?

what bothers me is that you guys keep singling out south american tour groups. there are tons of tour groups whether its from different countries or your own! i know i was in a huge group of 30 once.. maybe we were annoying who knows, but dont single out the south american people. typical americans

I don't think so. I was there last week and we were getting a wheelchair for my mother-in-law who is awaiting knee surgery (she had walked for most of the week, but it finally got to be too much on the last day); the lady in front of us was getting a scooter, was VERY rude to the cast member, and had no doc note. Just an observation.

I have another friend who has a problem with his leg and he never got a wheelchair while in Disney at all. I know some of the people in sccoters and wheelchairs have medical problems and I'm not blaming them, but there are a LOT of abusers. Also, whether they are legit or not, that doesn't mean that they own the park and can run people over (as I mentioned in another post, one in a scooter knocked my wife down while she was pregnant).

Also, many people have been talking about tour groups. I agree. At least for the Brazilian ones. This isn't racist. It is observation. Nine of ten Brazillian groups I've witnessed are very rude. That doesn't mean they are all like that, but when I see the Brazillian flag at WDW, I immediately try to avoid them. I don't see the same behavior from other groups there. Plus, I'm not saying a person is ok just cause they are from the US. Any time one travels to another country, I think you should try to understand the culture and behave accordingly.

hahaha this makes me giggle... i sincerely hope you are being ironic. complaining about everyone generalizing and then finishing with a generalization? classic.

for the most part, i feel that most of what people have been complaining about is the fact they they encountered the group, not because they were south american. we all know that anyone can be obnoxious, regardless of race, nationality, etc., most people are just saying that these are the specific people they have encountered. some people have unfortunately worded their opinions in a very generalized way that would make it seem that they are angry at south americans. i feel that if we were talking simply about a family from south america, no one would have a problem.

I don't think people are talking about the fact that there is a tour group, but the behavior of the tour groups. Personally, it is just the majority of the Brazillian ones that are the problem. I can only remember one Brazillian tour group I've seen that wasn't rude as a whole. I've seen many tour groups however from other South American countries (and others throughout the world) that were just normal tour groups that didn't act like they owned the parks. So maybe people here aren't specific, but they are being honest about what they don't like based on their own observations... kinda like your "typical americans" comment.

Yeah, I thought the "pot calling the kettle black" thing was funny, too. To my knowledge, I have only encountered two types of tour groups from other countries. One was from Japan and the other twenty (approx. count ) were from Brazil. I had no problem with the Japanese group. But each and every one of the Brazilian groups were super large and (IMO) quite loud and obnoxious. Now I have no problem with Brazilians. In fact, I will be going to Brazil next summer. I just find large groups of obnoxious people to be a disruption to my vacation. That includes those dang Brazilian tour groups and the American Pop Warner cheerleader groups in December. Perhaps if they were smaller in size and a shade less enthusiastic and loud.

Agreed, I have nothing against Brazilians or any other South Americans. As a matter of fact, I sponsor a young girl from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. I do however have a problem with any large tour group that is being loud and obnoxious. Talk amonst yourselves please, I don't need to hear you and your chatter when you are 20 feet away from me. It is just rude.

I think all the comments directed here at Brazilian tour groups are just because that is the type of tour group you usually encounter. Most of them seem to be young teenage girls and as we all know, put 20+ teenage girls (regardless of nationality) together and they are going to drive you craaazzzyyyy!

I for one was VERY surprised at just how many of these tour groups were there on Sunday and mind you, I went to 3 different parks on taht day and I STILL couldn't get away from them, drove me nuts! Out of all the tour groups I saw (which was at least 10) only 1 was semi-calm, and yes, they were from Brazil.

Night of Joy has always been a great event every time I've been and I've been quite a few times since my parents own a christian bookstore and sold tickets too it for Disney for many years. I will say that its packed and can be annoying and events like that seem to bring out the religious crazy's. I personally am against abortion, but I'm not about to shove it down peoples throats and I have seen the shirt that was talked about earlier and it is one of the more gross shirts out there. Overall night of joys not bad its just the crazy freaks that attend. So hey I got and idea lets ban crazy freaks.

i have thought of another thing that annoys me in disney .. people that feel like they must show affection towards each other in public.. a hug and kiss are ok...and i seen a couple kissing after a propsal and that is fine but i cant stand to see people standing there with there tongues down each others throats.. on the way back to my resort one night i seen two teens on there senoir class trip cuddling in two seats in a position i dont even know how they got in making out the whole time! it was disguisting no one wants to see that especailly the little ones on the bus! Im sure there is many other similar situations on rides and in the parks.. but get a room and be approprate in a family atmosphere!

Any revisiting member knows that the worst thing about WDW is the guests. My favorite is when you are walking behind people and they they see something and just decide to stop and turn around resulting in me plowing into them.
Maybe I should just carry a flask with me from now on. This would keep me calm.

Seriously, I would have to say the most annoying thing would be the people who are so very inconsiderate with their strollers or other equipment and look at you like You commited a felony when THEY hit YOU with thier stroller! UGH! :brick: :hammer:

Even so, they will not keep me away. I will prevail and have a great trip in 139 days! :sohappy: :wave:

High school kids at Grad Nite can be annoying too.
I was standing in line for a meet and greet with Woody in MGM, and these HS Seniors (there during the Grad Nite weekends around Easter) were yelling at Buz that he sucked. It really made me angry b/c there were tons of little kids around who wanted to see Buz and they looked up to him. I really got close to yelling at them. Crush a child's dreams, why don't ya'.

Having thought about it, I'd say one of the most annoying things about WDW are repeat guests who think they own the place. They have very little patience with other guests and get worked up way too easily over the smallest of things (strollers, people innocently stopping in front of them, etc.) I wish some folks would be just a tad more accomodating. Life would be better for everyone all around. :wave:

I know I'll catch heat for this one, but...

People who take advantage of touring the parks with handicapped family members.

Of course not all people fit into this rant, but here's an example from last September. While waiting for the bus to MK the line at Pop was fairly long, when an individual in an electric chair positioned themselves in the pick up spot for a wheel chair, the driver loaded them on and a half dozen family members got on the bus. Soon after, another individual and family followed
suit. How rude and annoying. Then a third group followed! Fortunately another bus pulled up and the rest of us we able to board.

I have no problem letting the handicapped folks get on first, but whatever happened to waiting your turn??? Why not make the family wait in line and when it's their turn, load the handicapped individual at that time? While I know it's tough to do because a special place has to be available for the chair to be loaded, but come on, a little consideration for others too.

Again, don't pound me on this one, but we need to be sympathetic to those that need the help, but fair to those standing in the Florida heat with small kids too.

I definetly don't think I own the place, but I do think its rude to use a stroller as a way to clear a path or to have your entire group stand in the middle of a path and block everyone else or to be moving with a crowd and just suddenly stop and cause everyone to collide. I think I am quite good at accomodating and getting along with people

RE: Strollers...Would you consider it rude if a person with a stroller cannot get by because people are blocking the way? (BTW, I too do not like people who bulldoze through a crowd with a stroller but sometimes so many people close in on those with strollers that they have to become aggressive just to get through a crowd.)
