Welcome to the Moore family’s March 2011 Disney Trip Report! This Trip Report is in full, so because of that it is both lengthy and picture heavy. Also, some of our family members (who have never been to Walt Disney World) will be reading this, therefore I will not use many abbreviations, that way it is easier for them to follow along.
Our vacation began on Friday, March 19th, 2011. My husband, Andrew (aka Andy, 3rd visit), our son Connor (age 4, 2nd visit) and myself (Lesley, 8th visit) drove from Clemson, SC to Greenville, SC mid-afternoon. The drive is about 30 to 45 minutes, which we take most weekends to visit family. My dad (Aaron, 15th visit) drove down from Charlotte, NC (about an hour and 45 minute drive) and met us at the La Quinta Inn and Suites. We checked in and met my in-laws, Don and Terri (Andy’s parents, this was their 1st visit to WDW ) and other family members for a yummy pizza dinner. After dinner, Andy, Connor, Dad and I went back to our hotel to go to sleep and rest up for our flight the next morning.
However, sleep was not something Andy and I got a lot of, thanks to my dad’s TERRIBLE snoring! Sorry to call you out here Dad, but you know it is true! Several times I had to wake my dad up to get him to stop, and Andy even went to the hotel lobby to get on the computer…needless to say, we were awake before the alarm went off at 7am.
Sunday, March 20th
When the alarm went off, Andy and I were close to being ready to go to the airport. We asked Dad if he remembered us waking him up throughout the night and he remember us trying to get to stop snoring once. One time. Out of about a dozen times we woke him up. I’m glad at least someone got some sleep!

When Andy woke Connor up, his first words were “We’re going to Disney today?” with excitement in his voice. It was precious.
Once we all got ready we went to the lobby for the “continental breakfast”. This was certainly not a “Disney breakfast”. In fact, it was pretty much disgusting and here is the picture to prove it:

Dad and Connor seemed to enjoy their breakfast though:

Soon after breakfast Andy’s parents met us to go to the airport. Andy, Connor and I rode with Dad, as he was leaving his car at the airport throughout our trip. Don and Terri (Andy’s parents) led the way for us. Andy’s twin (yes, they are VERY identical, for those curious) Matt, drove them. He dropped them off at the airport so they didn’t have to pay for parking. Traffic was light and getting to the airport was a breeze and not far from our hotel.
Going through security was easy, although it did concern me a bit. We brought along Connor’s Identification Card (it has his full name, our names, his picture, references to birth marks, etc.) and his Social Security Card. When we went to give it to Security we were told “Oh, we don’t need to see it, I can tell he belongs to you all.” This bothers me. We have never flown with Connor before, so I am not sure if this is something that happens often, but I believe a child should have some form of ID saying they belong to/can travel with the adult accompanying him or her. My young niece and nephew look like they “belong to us”, we could have easily taken one of them as “Connor.” Sorry for that rant, but I needed to get it off my chest. Whew! That’s better!
I was taken out of the line to have my hands wiped with a small moist napkin, I suppose to check for suspicious residue, and Andy was also taken out to have his shoes wiped, which was a first for both of us, but we were in the clear and good to go.
