I pay for 19 different streaming platforms and somehow the movies my kids want to watch are never available for free. Just purchased the Goosebumps movie for $9.99.

Goosebumps 2 haunted Halloween is on Netflix.

Get both movies as a two pack on Amazon for $7.33

I have an old one in the garage somewhere.
Reminds me of a night years ago when I discovered a friend had never seen Dave, which I consider required viewing. Since this was in the dark age between the Blockbuster and streaming eras, all we had was an old VHS copy. After a cross-town search we finally discovered a VCR in someone’s garage!

I just gave one away. Leaves me with one combo VCR DVD player. Because you never know.

I went down a YouTube rabbit hole last night, about planning for 100 year floods.

LA and Orange County haven't had a 100 year flood since 1862, meaning the chance of that happening in any given winter are one in 100. There have been two recent 50 year floods, which are less severe but still damaging, but they were more than 50 years ago. The biggest flood after 1862 was in 1938, and downtown Anaheim was under 6 feet of water for over a week! That was before the Prado Dam was built just before the war.

The most recent 50 year flood in SoCal was in 1969, 56 years ago, and it did relatively minor damage because the flood control systems had been built out for 100 year floods and they handled 50 year flood levels well.

But eventually SoCal is going to get another 100 year flood. Theoretically, SoCal is already 63 years overdue for that flood!

Even with the Prado Dam and all the various flood control systems in place, a 100 year flood would do damage to lots of low-lying Orange County. Here's the flood map for that water level for Disneyland Resort. Interestingly, you can see that much of Disneyland proper stays above water, but DCA and the new Resort infrastructure is at much greater risk than the original park.

The Downtown Disney underpass on Disneyland Drive looks to be a real problem. Do the pumps they must have there not work if the flood level is at a certain height, I wonder? There's also flood waters a few feet high in some backstage areas, and the entire Esplanade looks like it would be a problem at knee deep water.

Plus a gaggle of motels and areas around the Resort District. The underground parking structures at Gardenwalk, for instance.

The tax proposal went over like a lead balloon tonight. A lot of law enforcement speaking in favor of this tax. I guess they want to get more overtime at all events.

I'm out of the loop. What was the Anaheim tax proposal about?

Don't tell me they're talking about taxing Disneyland tickets again?!
