Handling it is one thing. I can do that. Liking it is entirely different. And I do not.

People couldn't handle a mildly scary Snow White ride that was three minutes long, and Disney not that long ago openly expressed discomfort with an axe murderer character being part of an attraction called Haunted Mansion. They're not going anywhere near truly scary anything because neither they nor much of their base could remotely handle it.

As a wee lad, I dreaded moving through the HM attic because of those pop-ups. As I aged a bit, I learned to appreciate their simple thrill. Then I came to miss them in their absence.

I have to admit, the zenith of Haunted Mansion (for one that had it mostly memorized) was encountering "the new suit of armor" for the first time. That proved that they still had a few (new or old) tricks up their sleeves.

I also still miss Snow White's Scary Adventure. I think it was fine to have one little dark ride that was a bit more harrowing than the others. It was sort of a rite of passage for some youngsters back in the day.

If they did something for Halloween beyond what they're doing now, I wouldn't want nor expect anything more than one notched-up walk-thru. A welcome addition for some, but easily avoided by others.

it's not all people that complaint about scary rides. It's parents that complain when their children cry on rides. They complained about Ghost Galaxy as well. Hmm maybe overprotective parents are what's ruining Disney parks.

They haven’t released it yet. Expect similar schedule in October to that of late September. Only wildcard is I read a rumor somewhere Fantasmic may be taken out of its misery soon to refurbish.

Thanks. I wasn't aware entertainment hours might lag the operating hours release (primarily a WDW person). I assumed they came out at the same time. Dining reservations for F! currently show it possibly going down after 10/11.

It sounds like MMRR is requiring your phone to be put away before it leaves the station. I hope this becomes the norm and people have to have their phones put away on all rides.

Yes it is, but it is a single walkthrough of a mix of random characters and some lighting effects. Would be nice to have some properly themed enclosed walkthroughs and something that isn't repeated year after year.

Sure, I can see that. As I mentioned before I wouldn't be opposed to a Villains Grove expansion or in this case a secondary location setup. But I just wouldn't want it to be outside of what they do already, ie no jump scare "FrightFest" type of walk thru.

Went to the Hilbert museum @Chapman University in Orange. They have an exhibit detailing Bank of America and Disneyland. They have the 1955 map, some stuff about the Bank on Main Street and lots of Mary Blair artwork for Small World. It's free to visit.

I was just doing a little head count because these are the weird things I think about and DCA will have the most variety of any Disney park when it comes to ride systems after the the 4 new rides open. The castle parks have more rides but a lot more overlap. Someone correct me if I’m wrong though. DCA and TDS were the two parks that immediately came to mind. TDS currently has about 2 more ride systems than DCA if I’m not mistaken.
