Try the fried chicken baos from Docking Bay 7 next time. It’s the best of the rontoless wrap but with fried chicken instead.

Somehow I've never actually eaten at Docking Bay 7 (though I've wandered the space to check out the theming). I'm looking at it on Yelp and the food looks shockingly good (it's a testament to the brevity of my visits to Galaxy's Edge that I've never thought to go here). The fried chicken baos look great, I'll have to try them out; though it looks like a different slaw and sauce than on the Ronto-less wrap (both of which I noticed were surprisingly good).

I agree that Rontoless wraps are good but on off days when the “protein” is cold they re awful.

Gross. I'm an omnivore but I've messed around with cooking Impossible burgers/sausage at home a bit. Serving them cold or undercooked is a no-no.

It was my second time. First time in years. They re solid and will make the rotation. Yea, I’m not sure the slaw was exactly the same but same idea in that it’s greens, cucumbers, Asian sauce etc. I think the baos sauce has more of peanut dressing.

Yea pretty much no better than eating a cold falafel or something.

There was one skillet-sort of meal I had there a few years ago in October that greatly exceeded my expectations, one of the best meals I've ever had within the park. The dessert was also excellent.

I have not tried any of the more regular items, though.

Anyone else been back here? I unknowingly showed up for Grad Nite earlier this week and the park was packed, so CMs re-routed everyone behind Main Street (on the Carnation Cafe side) to circumvent the parade when exiting the park. Got to see backstage Jungle Cruise, among other things. I've been through the overflow passage on the Market House side several times, but never this route. Pretty neat!

Yes, last year during Christmas Week!

I thought it was fascinating because it puts into perspective just how small the park is and how close together all of the different parts of it are, with so little space between the back of the Main Street buildings and Jungle Cruise boat storage. It makes sense, but to really see that Jungle Cruise is *right there* behind Main Street with your own eyes just makes it land in a whole other way.

One of my favorite things about Disneyland is that it is both bigger AND smaller than it seems. It really adds a simultaneous sense of intimacy and grandeur to the whole place that you don't get at many other parks to the same degree. There's the sense as you walk around that there's more to the park beyond what you can see, that it's holding some of its cards close to the vest until you discover them for yourself, as opposed to many newer parks that announce everything they contain immediately with the subtlety of a night parade. It's one of the things that makes the original park so special.

Maybe one of these two items? Both look great in photos. Maybe I shouldn't have slept on this place for so long.

Yes, it use to be used more often before the pandemic. I’ve used it probably about a dozen times since it opened up (2014 I think). I like the JC side more because of it giving you a view of the ride you never see.

I am a fan of the Twilight Zone, but I've always thought that Tower Of Terror was strong enough as a concept to stand on it's own without the branding.

It is a strong concept but it would be hard to go backwards. To lose Serlings voice and that music would be a downgrade. It would be one thing if that’s how it always existed.

You've articulated this better than I could. Any peak behind the curtain at Disneyland is completely fascinating because of the ridiculously efficient use of space. Every inch of the park is maximized (okay, maybe not Galaxy's Edge, but generally speaking..).

I promptly cued up a Jungle Cruise POV to try and make out exactly where I'd been backstage (sure enough, it's kind of right there in plain sight -- but your attention is of course drawn to the dock or the Tropical Hideaway).

"Backside of water"? Never been a fan of that joke. Backside of Main Street buildings? So cool.

Wish they’d view the park more as its own IP. Like I firmly believe TL 67 is the best IP they could put in Tomorrowland.

Agreed.

Occasionally it seems like they kind of get it. Consider how much Figment nostalgia merch they sell at Epcot. They know fans love that original park IP, even in spite of the mediocrity of the current iteration of Journey into Imagination... but they just can't pull the trigger on updating/restoring the ride.

The suits who make these decisions just don't know what they have. The name and idea of "Tomorrowland" are priceless.

I've said this before, but... it's so great to have the cannons back on Rise. It's a highlight in a ride filled to the brim with highlights. Good job, Disney! Seriously, from the cannons to the moment you disembark, it's maybe the best 90 seconds of any ride ever. Maybe that's hyperbole, but it's up there.

Another random thought... the General Hux AA (/moving figure) is really convincing. They could've totally phoned that in, as every rider is undoubtedly focused on Kylo during that scene, but the AA really looks like that actor.

It's that time of year again! When Elon Musk's SpaceX launches its rockets from Vandenburgh Space Force Base around sundown and they blast right over Disneyland!

Some of the photos on X tonight are incredible, as it was a warm and crystal clear evening in SoCal on Monday.

Meanwhile, in Tomorrowland.... crickets. 😴

Yes! Disneyland was lightning-in-a-bottle, the result of the right man at the right point in time with the right brother and right team of genius artists.

Its heart—its origin—wasn’t the creation of a corporation. It was Walt and Herb alone with a drawing board and tuna sandwiches.

It can only happen once. Everything since has been an attempt to recreate that. Some of those attempts are at least partially wonderful, but there will never be another DL.
