70th is platinum, so a Platinum Jubilee would be fun. New costumes for the Fab Five, platinum decor for the castle and Carthay, and a new fireworks show.

I could also just be completely wrong and they'll keep it low-key to wait for the 75th, but that's diamond again so I'm not sure.
I’d be very shocked if we got a new firework show, given that the 75th would be just five years later. I could be wrong though.
I don't know, but I'm sure it will have an up charge. :p
This is a guarantee!

Crazy it’s less than 4 years away. I wonder if MMRR will be the only “new” ride (not including PatF Mountain) by the time the 70th hits. I’d say a Marvel E ticket is 50/50 but they would have to announce that pretty soon like Destination D or next Summer latest. I’d like to think they would open a new ride for the 70th. A Coco dark ride at DCA would be a good choice.

Kind of depressing to think of TL still being in its current state for the 70th but I don’t really want the current regime to touch it anyway. Maybe they re shooting for a new TL for the 75th. At the very least put something decent in the TL theatre for the 70th. Maybe give Buzz a heavy refurb with lots of upgrades or they put some new stop gap shooter there. Pooh could be up in the air but my money would be on it staying. I hope they don’t try to extend NOS to include Splash. Just rename the new ride and leave the lands alone. It still makes sense. They re in the bayou/ country somewhere outside of NOS. If they try to change the lands around it might create a negative ripple effect for Critter Country/ Hungry Bear/ Pooh Corner.
Nothing here I disagree with. Also yeah, why is it less than four years away already? Weren’t we just preparing for the 60th like two weeks ago? Crazy how time flies.

I agree. I know we’ve speculated about Critter Country before on this thread but I am not an advocate for losing that end of the park with Pooh/Hungry Bear and the canoes, nor ruining the sight lines of RoA which were recently spruced up with SWGE.

Do I eventually think CC will be earmarked for future expansion? yes. Do I foresee it in the near future? Probably not. A Tiana-themed flume ride could fit into both lands, just as it Toy Story Mania existed for a decade in Paradise Pier before the mismatch known as Pixar Pier, and Matterhorn has existed in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland and different points in history.

I imagine Disneyland Forward won’t be completed before then. They still need to play ball with the city and get the land rezoned on top of the regular development pipeline

If what they're doing for Disney World's 50th birthday is any indication, not much.

As for Critter Country, I wouldn't expect any changes to it after Iger and Chapek Are Totally Woke We Swear Mountain opens.
Exactly what I was thinking. If WDW’s 50th is an indication, then basically nothing.

I hate that we have to do birthday celebrations during the Chapek era. Expections are quite low, if there are any at all.

What do you guys and gals think Disney will do for Disneyland’s 70th birthday, besides the usual merchandise and cupcakes?
I'm more curious on what they'll do for the companies 100th in 2023, and then DL 75th in 2030. As those are more major milestones.

The 70th probably won't be much more than what you mentioned, some merch and cupcakes. Basically the same that was originally planned for the 65th in 2020 before COVID.

I’m actually hoping they don’t do anything big and just wait the extra five years.

Yes, but isn’t that their 50th show?
Yes it is! But nothing about Enchantment so far seems to scream anniversary show beyond doing what Disneyland does in having Main Street projections. The description of the show suggests it's another clip show, so why they decided to cut HEA rather than enhance it for the 50th when HEA was so well-received is beyond me.

Storytellers or Plaza Inn for Character Breakfast? I know it’s Mickey and Friends at Plaza Inn. Which characters are at Storytellers? I've never done either one. Actually, I haven't done any character meal since Goofys kitchen in the late 90's. My daughter is turning one later this month and we re celebrating this week with a pre birthday Disneyland trip. The grandparents and great grandma are coming too.
