Hey! In all fairness, that post is in line with the title of this thread!
And I gave it the appropriate response for such a miscellaneous thought....

I wouldn't mind seeing any of them playing a mermaid.... I'll just leave it at that.

Nope, Double Nope, Triple Nope and Nope
Had to look up Jessica Chastain.
"I've got gadgets and gizmos a plenty!"
Reasons I loved the animated classic: 1) The art direction and 2) the character designsPretty disappointed to hear its essentially a shot-for-shot remake.
Also, as predicted, the lack of human emotions coming through CGI animals is noticeable.
But generally positive visuals overall. Sounds like another easy payday.
First Reactions In For New "The Lion King" - Dark Horizons
Disney’s CG animated remake of their 1994 traditionally animated classic “The Lion King” premiered last night in Los Angeles and while reviews are still under embargo, the first social media reactions have now gone online. The film scores high praise for its visuals which are often labelled...www.darkhorizons.com
Too skinny to play a mermaid? I'm not sure what mermaids you're used to in your neck of the ocean, but in mine there is no size limitation. Mermaids come in all shapes and sizes my friend....They re too skinny
I didn't think she was half bad in La La Land... but remember, part of the role will likely require her to be mute as well, so you gotta be able to convey through facial expressions and "body language".I love Emma Stone, but her vocal skills aren’t up to par to play Ariel, in my opinion.
You really didn’t know who Jessica Chastain was? Lol Did you recognize her and when you looked her up?

I’m used to Mermaids that have some booty AND sing like angels.

She really can't be any worse than Emma Watson in Beauty and the Beast.
Let's not kid ourselves that Ariel's singing is a major focal point of the movie. Let's not forget, Ariel literally only sings Part of Your World... that's it. With proper coaching and working with Menken, yes, I believe she could do it.Her voice is decent, but Ariel is known as a beautiful songstress. Her vocals play a huge role in the movie. Can you see Emma Stone successfully tackling “Part of Your World” and doing the song justice?
Anyone can be mute.

Yeah, I mean she does the "ahh ahhh ahhhhhhhs" when Ursula takes her voice, but... that's it.Wow I don’t think I ever realized she only sings one song in the movie.
