The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Whoever’s responsible for not making this be available to watch on Disney + with the 70th Anniversary of the show now, with all the commerative merch they put out. They ought to be called out & humiliated for keeping such historical landmarks hidden away for as long as they have, knowing their importance & influence in history.
Funny how I can find all of stuff like Hannah Montana & Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney + but none of the genuine stuff that apparently influenced it, that appealed to all ages, that the entire family could watch & enjoy together and set out to carry on the Walt Disney legacy tastefully. It’s BS

And again, so sick and tired of the Bi-Polar Mickey approach that’s only either strictly for preschoolers & no one above that age retaining little to none of their personalities, or edgy & so overly exaggerated they can’t be sincere at all with the characters being our only options since ‘06 besides the stuff from the 50s-before and even then, not all of ‘that’ is even made available on Disney + or physical media since the now long out of print, way too expensive Walt Disney Treasures DVD collections. When it’s the more sincere, well rounded, funny stuff that made them such iconic, legacy characters to begin with.

I again, should say.. whoever is directly responsible for letting these cartoons become as neglected as they’ve become, and as a result the reputation & image of these characters. By this point, if they’re still with the company. We need names named, we need explanations if we can get any, and if there’s any truly toxic reasoning behind the why and/or they refuse to answer reasonably under what would be considered normal circumstances or decide to do the right thing finally. Please, let stories surrounding them being released (or the lackthereof) be told and let those responsible be shamed/humiliated & fired (or again, blacklisted depending on how bad they’ve been and what’ve done since) and we need to get this situation course corrected ASAP. It should be considered criminal how badly mishandled these have been regarding having proper exposure & releases for so many years now. Especially comparing them to how other companies/studios have been releasing & keeping their classic cartoons out there for decades now.

My youngest son wanted to go to Disneyland for his Christmas present so we picked up the so cal 3-day pass for the three of us. With teacher union discounts it was on $199 for a three day park hopper. We are hoping for a quiet day at Disneyland on Jan 13th. We'll pick additional days until it ends in June. This trip is to see Galaxy's Edge and Carsland.

Let us know how your trip goes, please. Would be curious to hear your take on the experience at the park being offered atm.

I believe it ends in late May. Don't want you planning for a day that you cant go. I'd plan on one of those days for when the new Mando missions come to Smugglers Run. I believe there is an overlap of a few days in late May.

So after a few years off they wouldn't rather go home and do homework? lol. On one of our last trips my son wanted go home to see his Nintendo Switch 2 carrying case that got delivered while we were at the park. That confirmed to me that a little break from our passes is a good idea. haha

It's been ten years since our Disneyland AP and the youngest one is in college and we're kind of bored of Knott's. We'll do Fanfest at Universal and the usual Halloween stuff. We're going to Texas in February for a cruise. No shortage of stuff to do. I want to do Dollywood.

Yea we could use a little break and just want to see some new stuff. Dollywood sounds like a lot fun.

Also sorry I was wrong. The 3 day so cal tickets expire on 5/21 and the new Smugglers Run Mission debut on 5/22….of course. I’m a gambling man though I’d try my luck on some soft openings on 5/20 or 5/21.

I mostly just want pictures of us around the holo chess board.

I had so much fun this past Christmas/New Years trip. I have a handful of operational grievances (Opera House closing at 8? ROTR still closing at 10? Festival of the Holidays booths only being open from 12-6? C'mon) and plenty involving entertainment (pretty decently reduced FOTH offerings when compared to last year; no Christmas WOC show; clinging to the same ol' tired Believe and Christmas Fantasy; and plenty that are more general that I've shared elsewhere). I noticed a few missing light displays in NOS in particular. It was a bit hard to tell how many of the entertainment cuts were due to the 70th and how many are permanent.

However, the reality was that I was enjoying myself to the level that I hardly gave these issues a thought when I was actually in the parks. Crowds were manageable, operations other than those noted above were on point, and food was good, especially the seasonal stuff. Most people seemed to be in good spirits and enjoying themselves. Christmastime is my favorite time for people watching because in addition to all the normal Disney outfits you also get to see the Disney Christmas ensembles as well. The parks are in pretty decent shape and nothing stuck out to me as being in egregiously bad condition. No complaints with any CMs (and a shout-out to the people working Space Mountain for searching for and retrieving my MagicBand that flew off my wrist and under the ride vehicle as I was exiting. Somehow they were able to get it back within about ten minutes of it falling off while dealing with the constant movement of the rockets in and out of load). The attraction roster at Disneyland Park in particular is, for the most part, the gift that just keeps on giving. Even on my last day, when every part of me was seemingly screaming to go back and take an afternoon nap, I just couldn't let myself leave the park on such a nice day (the 29th, which was wonderfully sunny and warm especially in comparison to some of the days around it).

I spent more days at DLR this year than I ever have in the past and my only thought is that I'd still go back today or tomorrow if I could. They've got me good.
