A wordless treatise on the hedonistic nature of the Zionites?

A testament to the humanity of the underground in the face of the impending mechanical invasion?

A demonstration of how Neo's and Trinity's lovemaking was just part of a vast "dance" in which the whole was involved?

Blah...thanks for trying to enlighten me, but I know filler when I see it.

I do give the filmmakers TONS of credit on one tiny detail however...

Trinity did REAL hacking instead of the silly "cheesy 3D graphics" hacking that most other movies do...

She uses a program called "NMap" to find exploits in the network for the power grid (This is the most commonly used hacker tool that I know of) using its powerfull port scanning function.

The IP if finds is also valid. 10.2.2.2..port 22...which is a common SSH IP for logging into a server remotly...

And theres more!

Once she finds an open door..she uses an exploit called SSHv1 CRC32..which is a recently (2001) discovered way of overriding PW information by using a systems left over memory buffer.

And finally..in true H4ck3r fashion...the PW she uses is Z1ON0101

Congrats to the makers of the movie for making a geek happy! It was a lot more convincing this way....

....i hope i didnt just freak everyone out by my knoledge of all this...

Oh..and here..so you can see what all this looks like..

Tanks Sues The Matrix Sequels Makers

Marcus Chong, who played Tank in the original The Matrix, is suing the makers of the two sequels says E! Online.

In the suit, Marcus Chong, best known to sci-fi fans as the driving force that was Tank, claims he was "blackball[ed]" and branded a "terrorist" by producers after his character was derailed from the sequels, according Los Angeles' City News Service.

Warner Bros. and the writing-directing Wachowski Brothers' Eon Productions are among the named defendants, per the wire service.

Chong's lawsuit, alleging breach of contract, slander and fraud, seeks the six figures he says he would have banked from the two new flicks, plus interest and other unspecified damages.

Yeah, but X2 has been in the top spot for the past few weeks, not to mention that suprisingly when I saw the Matrix the night I saw it there were a lot of empty seats. I found that odd, but when I went to go see X2 there were none. I have a prediction that the Matrix will sink in just a week or two. There are alot of new good releases coming out and a majority of word of mouth for the movie has not been very good. Many of my friends who have seen it have commneted on it being "underwhelming", Which is very true, it's just nothing like the first one was.

I just saw Reloaded for the first time last night, and even though I went in knowing that I was going to be dissapointed, watching it was still a letdown. Even as pure eye candy it failed to deliver what I was really looking for. There was never that one big moment of special effects and art design coming together to totally blow me away, like the lobby gunfight from the first film or Magneto's escape in X2. There were plenty that came close, like the car-jumping scene or Trinity's fall, but I had already seen the best bits over and over in the trailers and TV spots that Warner Brothers has put everywhere. As much as I hate to say it, X2 was the better movie here.

I agree, comparing the two movies, X2 was better. However, there's just sooooo many possibilities this movie has opened up in the world of the matrix. I dont know how many spoilers are in this thread, so I won't say anything, but the Matrix Reloaded is so freakishly complex in everything that is thrown at you and where Revolutions goes with the story is anyone's guess.

X2 is a better movie, right now, but let's see what people are saying about Reloaded in November, when Revolutions completely changes everything you thought was happening and being told to you in Reloaded.

On that note, Reloaded would have been such a better movie without a few things:

1. Obvious CG, i almost thought George Lucas was in charge of special FX, no just kidding, not even Uncle George puts that much faith in CG. Anyway, what i mean by obvious CG is summed up in the zoom in shot of Neo above the clouds, and then most of the Agent Smith fight, not to mention the fact that you can see some of the extras in the background that don't look like Hugo Weaving, and then the fact that this entire fight served no purpose at all.

2. Like it has been discussed, the ______/rave scene was pointless. I know Neo and Trinity really love eachother, they kiss in every single scene they're in together (no really, they do) Couldn't they're making love just be hinted at, or we see them in bed the next morning?

3. Going between the woman's legs in matrix code. pointless, and grotesque.

But still, I loved the movie and have got to see it again! :hammer:

Are you kidding me? Where are you looking? The Matrix Reloaded made $10 million on Monday and about $8 million yesterday. The movie has acculmulated over $150 million and could crack $200 million by the end of the week.

You are completely nuts on this. The movie will easily cross the $300 million mark and with Memorial Day weekend coming up in a few days, the movie should make even more money.

I agree that it should be falling soon. Sure, it'll still have wind because it only opens internationally this Friday, but it sure is suffering from bad word of mouth.

Are you all nuts? The film hasn't received that bad word of mouth. I bet the film stays on the Top 10 for the next five to six weeks.

You should do some research. The majority of the critics and many of the ones who posted in this very thread, have said that they expected more of it and that it can drag at times and become very tiresome.

I'm with Mickey Moose on this one, even if he's totally nuts. As much as I was dissapointed by Reloaded I'm still going to go see it again, and I've got a few friends who have already seen it thrice. It's just one of those movies like The Fast and the Furious where people will go back again and again all summer long just because the movie is so much fun to watch . Besides, I've heard that Reloaded is better the second time through anyway because instead of wondering whether or not it will live up to your expectations you can sit back and enjoy it for what it is. So, while it might not stay at the number 1 spot for another 4 weeks, it's going to hover in the top 10 for as long as it's in the theatres.
Three quick thoughts:
The closing music montage was awful.
The Revolutions trailer at the end of the videogame is much better. Find it and download it to see a certain someone laugh maniacally.
If I never see another Wire-Fu sequence again I'll die a happy man.

My boyfriend made me go see it with him a second time and let me tell you, for me it didn't get any better. It turned into my own private episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000. I made fun of the movie the whole time. If only Tom and Crow were there it would of made this movie a much more enjoyable experience. :D

One more thing for me to say...

I do appreciate the complexity of the plot and the way it is thought out, what I didn't like was the movie itself, there was a better way to tell this story and this second movie was not the way. There were too many questions answered with questions and the dialogue when explaining key points of the matrix got a little confusing. Also many points were reiterated (sp?), and said too many times and I spent my time saying "You already told me that! Come on I paid to see this move, give my 7 dollars worth of information!" I'm just praying revolutions is not like reloaded. And a few theories from me.

1. Zion, is another layer of the Matrix giving everyone who is "free" the illusion of control and free will.

2. The french guy, I can't remember his name, is one of the past "Ones" (you know like Neo), and pacifiny, his girlfriend, is the one the architect speaks of as the mother of the matrix.

Just some random thoughts.

You're not REALLY comparing it to "The Fast and the Furious", right? :lookaroun :dazzle:

And I do agree with the wire-fu thing, that's why you gotta love Jackie Chan. :sohappy:

You know, you could've marked this with a huge "Spoiler Warning", you know? Just a thought... Some of us haven't seen the movie yet.

I was under the impression that the french guy is a program, the girlfriend is one of the gifted humans (like the kids the Oracle oversees in the first one). Also... isn't the Oracle the mother of the matrix?

Frenchie is a program, Persephone(SP?) is also a program, who, btw, lost all abilities to feel, hence she asked Neo for the kiss. And yes, the Oracle, also a program, is the 'mother of the matrix."
