So you think pedophilia and rape is funny? Wow. Do you even know what he said? I suggest you look it up. It's really sick and disturbing. So much so that I dare not post it here.

One, please find where I said anything he said was funny. (Hint - I didn't). Two, telling jokes of rape and pedophilia does not mean you condone or practice either one and trying to insinuate that it does shows a lack of understanding the basics so many things.

And since you are so enraged with Gunn and Disney for keeping him gainfully employed I am sure you will stop seeing any of his movies, stop going to Disney altogether, and stop spending any money at all on anything related to Disney in order to show how disgusted you are. Right? ;)

There is not a double standard, you are just looking at the wrong metric.

Disney simply believes the cost is not worth the reward with Gina. It is when it comes to China.
what was the cost to having Gina in that role? Show me how the twitter mob had any effect on the profitability of her show? Was there a big drop in sales since the mob started tweeting? or drop in viewership? naw

The simple fact that she is no longer employed by them shows whatever the cost, be it dollars, viewership, or just sick of dealing with the negative PR, it was too high.

i dont think you even read the post that youre referring to.

“Gina Carano’s post made the point that mass violence starts with hatred for your neighbor, This is not only uncontroversially true but also one perspective of the commandment to love your neighbor. That idea is not a call to empty niceness. It’s how you prevent suffering.”

ya'll twisting the post to see what you want to see because ya want another reason to cancel her.
I read plenty. That’s fine, but a comparison using Nazis and Jews is the trigger point here. I’m not twisting anything.

naw, it just shows they didnt like a republican tweeting while working for them. There was no cost.
Do you honestly think the people that make these decisions care one bit about her political affiliation or what she posted? She was not on brand and a PR hassle and not worth the trouble.

Had she been the lead character of a hit show, she would more than likely still have a job.

Yep, as if everyone in Hollywood or involved with the Mandalorian are exclusively Democrats.

She is facing consequences due to specific, offensive statements. Everyone claiming she's being persecuted for simply being a Republican are engaging in the fake oppression game. Fabricated oppression always feels better than actually taking responsibility for one's own actions.

It's also worth noting she wasn't necessarily "fired". She's a recurring guest character. Declining to bring her back isn't the same as terminating someone's contract.

So you think... rape is funny? Wow.

Well...

I still stand by Gina Carano, simply because Kennedyfilm is essentially playing Calvinball with standards and practices just to appease a screeching Uber-minority of people who have no lives outside of Twitter.

Disney is also conveniently forgetting that even though Gina Carano’s Holocaust comparison may have been objectionable, it’s kind of a nothing-burger compared to the overtly racist crap they’ve pulled to appease their Chinese overlords.

again there was no cost to having her on the show other than having to ignore twitter trolls. Disney ignores fan petitions/hashtags all the time. They get way more backlash for working with China than they do Gina. So your point is that because China makes them more money its ok to hold different standards.
So that makes it ok...alrighty then.
umm yes, its actually ok to use historical events to make a point about not turning on your neighbors

Yes, but context is important. People aren't turning on their neighbors, putting them into gas chambers and killing over a million of them just because of their religious beliefs. Find another comparison, there are plenty of other historical examples she could have used.

I didn't know the Chinese were so anti-Wookie.

But since they kept Finn in the poster and not Poe, it's obvious they hate Latinos. As well as Wookies. And whatever Kaz is.

And boy, do the Chinese hate Tie Figheters going from nine of them to just two of them!! Because, as some people see it, a slight reduction is tantamount to cancel culture.

I never said it was OK. I said that is why they did it.

Gina is not worth the hassle to Disney regardless of how small you think or it actually is. Her contract not getting renewed shows that.

China is. Disney continually looking the other way to a myriad of human rights violations and placating to them shows that.

It is no more complicated than that.
