The Little Mermaid is kind of... weird.

Irony... You bring up being bethroved or married as a young teen as questionable... In a story about a mermaid.

Marriage and birthing was done as teens up until the last 150 years or so.

It wasn't so much that she was 16... It was that she fell in love with a guy who she'd only had contact with while he was unconscious.

What I've learned about love is - don't expect everyone else's to be like yours. 'Love at first sight..' isn't just in fairy tales. Are they always accurate? No, but plenty of people fall just on seeing someone.

Tiana didn't fall in love immediately. Jasmine and Aladdin didn't get married until the third film. Same for Mulan and Shang, they took their time. They're not all weird.

So I was just thinking, I thought in Aladdin, Jasmine had to be married by her birthday and at the end of the movie, she chose Aladdin. Doesn't that mean they did get married?

That's a good question. You're not the only one who thought they married at the end; I thought they did too. Either the people at Disney forgot or they really didn't marry because they weren't officially married until the third film. It's confusing. Even the movie poster of the Prince of Thieves shows Aladdin and Jasmine in their wedding attire.

I feel like the Disney people "forget" a lot of things when they make sequels. For example, ever noticed how the cub that's born at the end of The Lion King looks NOTHING like Kiara in Return to Pride Rock? Not to mention, at the end of The Lion King book, they show the same cub from the movie and explicitly state that it's a he. Silly Disney people.

That's true. Have you noticed Arthur from The Sword in the Stone has like three different voices?

No, I haven't! I'll have to track that down and watch it this weekend!

Yep! I kind of just found out about that too. It was a couple of years ago, I was reading some trivia on the movie and I read the information there. I couldn't believe it! I watched it and I noticed the different voices very quickly.

This isn't a mistake but have you noticed the Mickey shaped cookies in Sleeping Beauty? So cute!

Just found this:

Arthur was voiced by the directors' three young sons (none of whom sounded anything alike). Not one of them had even the slightest trace of the British accent you'd expect from King Arthur.

lol! Interesting. And no, I haven't noticed that either! I guess it's gonna be a Disney kind of weekend!

You know what else took me forever to figure out? The fact that Tarzan was speaking "gorilla" to his family and friends. I couldn't understand for the life of me why Tarzan could speak perfectly, well spoken English to his family and friends, but had no clue whenever he spoke to Jane, her father and Clayton. When I finally had that "lightbulb moment I couldn't stop laughing. I just thought duh, Jasmine (my name)! Gosh, that was a serious airhead moment!

lol! I never really thought about that, to be honest.

What I did find interesting the last time I watched Pocahontas was how she met John Smith, didn't understand a word he said, and then *poof* five minutes later, speaks perfect English!

Oh my goodness, Pocahontas too! That's odd to me too... I guess the wind taught her to speak English, LOL!

I know we should be using our imaginations, like we did as kids but as you get older, it's hard not to think about stuff like this.

I wish the wind would teach me Spanish! I have a test tomorrow! :D
