The Laugh Floor

That's what I was thinking too - any of you frequent visitors know if you can see into the building anymore? I remember when construction first began there were pictures taken from the TTA. Anyone? :drevil:

Cant really see in there at all. I always look in there. Im at Mk usually atleast once every 2 weeks. The ride I always hit up is TTA. Cant say ive really caught anything at all. I did once see some lights but thats about it. Those windows have a very dark tint on there.

It kinda hard to get construction photos of anything. There is an entrance into the room from the utilidors but im sure that area is heavily guarded and I doubt they let anybody in there. With not much view from the outside your not gonna get much either. Its kinda like the nemo building. We could take pictures of the outside of building but had no was of getting inside.

I woldn't worry about the jokes. Recruitment of performers from the Comedy Warehouse and The Adventurers Club at Downtown Disney shows the type of entertainer they are looking for: improv artists. Although they will need to keep the material 'family friendly', it promises to be a different, funny show every time: expect to see things similar to the broadcast episodes of "Who's Line Is It Anyway?".
Also, I believe I read on this site that people will be able to text message some of their jokes into the show as well. I have to crack up at that one though, text messaging jokes seems a bit funny.

Yeah, I don't think we'll see Sully opening with "A Priest and a Rabbi walked into a bar...". Mike, maybe, but not Sully...

And text messaging? I can see the integration layer with the show system messing that big time. Some 4-tentacled monster saying "UNOOBWTFdrtyhaxxorPOS" and then bursting into flames and exploding...

I was reading my monthly Disney Hello that I signed up for and there was a very intersting article on the Laugh Floor. It goes into a little depth about how this attraction will work and confirms the fact that the attraction will be opening up late January 2007. Here's the article. (I didn't see this posted anywhere...so if it has...sorry  )

do you know if it is going to be circle vision 360??? i hope it is. but even if it is it will never be enough to replace timekeeper r.i.p my favirote attraction

Guest Preview today

There was a guest preview today, and I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and got in with my 3-year old son. The host said we were the very first guests to see the show and that the show was in very early stages of dress rehearsals.

I'll be writing more about the experience on my blog. But I can answer some questions about the old Circle-vision theatre. It's been completely transformed. Gone are the screens, projectors, and leaning bars. Gone is the stage and animatronic figure. In it's place is the new 'Laugh Floor Comedy Club'.

They've brought in big blue plastic benches and installed a slight theatre rake. It's done really cute and looks like what you would expect a comedy club to look like in Monstropolis. At the front of the theatre is a 'stage', which is really a big movie screen, and two smaller screens. This is the least convincing effect of the show. On the right of the stage is a big yellow canister, which will be used to capture the laughs of the audience.

I didn't get to see the queue area, but they did mention that it was being redone too and would be part of the show experience with monitors and such.

That's a big enough Teaser for now. I'll post more about the experience later on The Disney Blog

I think it will have a positive effect on Disney with the Re-ride ability alone. Never the same show twice how great is that. Disney needs more of that unpredictablity in it's attractions. One way to keep people comming back for more.

I read the blog (thanks) and can`t believe they let guests in with the show in such an unfinished state. Sneak previews are one thing, but beta testing with unfinished material? I get the feeling they might try and rush it through for Christmas. By the sounds of the review it`s on a little shaky ground; we don`t want 2 attractions in Tland with a bad rep - rightly or wrongly.

That is fantastic news. I expected to have to wait until next year to see it, but if I can see this on my trip in two weeks, I'll be thrilled.

I was there, too, and it was very rough but showed promise of an enjoyable show. Graphics were uncoordinated, and sound was a little off, and I too felt that the animated "puppets" could have used some work. There were plenty of fun and funny moments, though, and the actors did a great job of "improv"ing their way through the mistakes. That was one of the funniest parts! Apparently the text-messaging of jokes will happen during the pre-show, which, as the man said, could last up to 20 minutes. That makes me think the show may end up about 20 minutes long; one group goes from pre-show to show at the same time as another group fills up pre-show. They said, too, that jokes may be "selected" to be used; so gobbled-up text messages will not appear in the show.

It needs a lot of work, really, and there were many suggestions that the guy in charge seemed to really listen to. I wouldn't expect an early opening on this one. If they can work out the kinks and make the puppets more fluid, I think it will be a great show.

this sounds awesome, I can't wait to get back sometime in 2007 to see this show... a comedy show is a GREAT idea for a new attraction... in my eyes
