I usually get out my luggage about 2 weeks ahead of time, too, and start to pack the little stuff that I need, and leave most of the clothes until the night before I leave.

I love planning my packing and wardrobe list and starting to pack, as it signals that VACATION time is almost near :)

Check to see if there is a "Formal" night or two, and you'll have the chance to wear your pretttiest dress to dinner, if you like.

Remember to pack a sweater or jacket for the evenings, when the evening breeze may be a bit chilly, or the A/C is on freezing:)

You should really carry around a small sunscreen. Bath & Body works makes a small stick of sunscreen. And it smells like tangerine. And it's not icky like regular sunscreen. You just roll it on. Go check it out. It won't even take up too much room in your already crowded luggage. :)

You're not taking your full-sized hair products, are you?

A 16 oz bottle of shampoo weighs......oh....about a pound.

Scrounge around and find some little bottles from previous hotel stays, or go the the drug store and buy some.

Even 2 little bottles will take up less space and weigh much less.

Is there a hair dryer on the ship?

How long is this cruise that you need 8 dresses?

Veteran cruisers pack one or two basic "bottoms"--skirt or pants, then different blouses/scarves/jackets, etc. for formal dinners.

Will you have a formal dinner every night?

I am a minimalist when it comes to packing. I would rather spend 2 hours doing laundry while on vacation than lug around an extra suitcase.

One color of eye shadow is enough, and try to make do with one lipstick. You don't need ALL your make-up. If you will be hiding behind sunglasses most of the day (like on shore excursions or beach days) you can get by with a minimal amount, or even less than that.

If you have pierced ears, wear one pair of earrings the whole trip. (or it you must, take one silver and one gold pair) You will have less to pack, and you eliminate the risk of having your jewelry stolen.

Just a thought.............

Unlike you..im an over packer! lol I use a special shampoo and conditior for my hair so i put them in smaller bottles. I also put my facial cleaser in a smaller bottle and I went to clinque and got a small bottle of the product I use. I also have a bottle of gel and a bottle of detangler in my lil travel bathroom caddy majig..it all adds up after a while, ya kno? Yes I do need 8 dresses. Im going on the 7 day disney cruise. I plan to wear one every night to dinner and Im going to DisneyWorld for 4 days afterwards. I will wear them..I live in dresses on Vacation. I brought 3 pairs of sjirts and few tops so i can mix and match. My bag is pretty heavy , but i can deal..only gotta carry it thourgh the air ports and when i get on the boat for a tad. But thanks for trying to help!
