Very good time for the most part. Typical summer crowd and heat but used to it. W are supposed to leave tomorrow but I think I'm going to try and be first in line while wife and kiddo sleep. Was going to try it tonight during EMH, but kid worn out and storms threw off the wait times while we're there. Was like a 3 hr wait at 1040.
Dang! Just from personal experience, we rope dropped Flight of Passage and arrived at 6:50 am, and from the moment we arrived at the park to ride the ride it took under an hour. Basically if you go early you should be fine. Don't worry if you are going to soak up the epic queue it really is out of this world!

No more we wants the redhead? I have red hair so I always felt wanted. I get the underlying non-PC tone but is this necessary?
Also the story makes no sense...if you're looting things that = stealing, so why would there be an auction to pay for stolen goods? Why not just steal it
They broke the story years ago when the added Jake Sparrow that was the moment Pirates was ruined. I would take this change if they go in and remove ALL of Sparrow.
Its also noted this is the second change related to the subjugation of woman they have changed in pirated.

I actually think the new scene is interesting, Walt Disney always supported changing attractions and adding more to them. As long as the change doesn't date the attraction (my main problem with making Tower of Terror a Guardians ride) or otherwise negatively effect it, I say why not?

I loved the first change, don't like this one because it solves nothing.
The first change, women stood up to the pirates. In this change, the woman is the pirate. I understand the need for its removal, but if you're going to remove it, there has to be a better way than this. I would have much rather seen another rebellion scene.
I doubt they'll remove the film references, but that also didn't help the story of the attraction.
Yeah, I think it worked. Though it looks like 645-50 was the sweet spot for arrival. First couple of buses started arriving about 655 and first somewhat crowded tram shortly before that.
I will say the only thing that stinks is you aren't actually rewarded for being near the front. I was first in no bag check but got stopped for scanning, again, so ended up behind a fam of 3 in AP line. Worked out though as they'd done this 2 other times that week so knew the fastest way to next hold aND we were first 4 there.
With the way the stopping points were done and the path narrowing ended up like sone where around 25th or so after people pushed through. Still was walking out around 805. If we'd been doing a day there, would have been perfect since wait times for JS and Everest at 5-10 min consistently (tried to do it tue but they wouldn't get up)
Really enjoyed the ride. That first drop took my breath away. Its far from needed now, and may be too difficult, but I hope they find a way down the road to add an alternate film
Didn't get the rain, but did ride JS in the middle of a lightening storm the other night. That was interesting to say the least. @MonorailRed I needed safari gear for that!
the ending was a bit off. I was surprised they did not end with The Joker in jail plotting his escape, perhaps they changed it due to Ledger's tragic death?
, and that the film did feel a bit long in the last third. In a way the first 2/3rd was a different film. But those two things aside, the first half felt like it could actually happen, which is what made it scary.
It's not for everyone (hint hint: my mom thought some of the Joker's scenes were downright retarded, and my dad thought it was good, but not spectacular), but my brother and I especially loved it.
It's not a perfect masterpiece, but since nothing is perfect, if it is not considered one I don't know what is.
The Joker reminded me of ultra creative, out of the box, and downright genius characters like Jack Sparrow (in the first film), Long John Silver in Walt's original and even to a lesser extent Treasure Planet (one of the reasons why TP wasn't as good as it could have been was because they did not use Long John Silver enough and properly), Indiana Jones, etc. The Joker had the perfect double: awesomely written with great motivations and dialogue, and perfect acting that does a good script justice.
The unpredictability like Jack Sparrow, and sheer genius of scenes was perfect.
I would also put The Incredibles as the number 2 Comic Book film as the villian's motivations there are superb as well.
Good night everyone, and I recommend you watch The Dark Knight Trilogy!!!
EDIT: the more I think about it the more I realize why my critique in the spoiler tag is a non-issue. It would take away a bit from the movie's purpose, and I suppose if Heath Ledger was still with us we'd have seen more of his epic portrayal.
I consider myself a Universal fan -- admittedly not as much as Disney but that's because the ratio of going to Disney and Uni is like 20 trips to 2 trips, so there's less nostalgia/experience.
You know what makes me question my Universal fandom?....other Universal fans Good golly and I thought the blinder Disney fans were tough to reason with
