I cannot get behind forensics, I'm sorry but that does NOT seem to fit in with Disney.

How about a pavilion on recreation in general. Sports, Arts, all sorts of things.

A chemistry pavilion I could get behind, and maybe mention forensics. But, forensics in general is just a subject matter that I don't think people want to confront on vacation.

Why? Everyone else seems to like it...

Like a Hobby pavillion?

Chemistry? Like as in chemicals? I personally find that much more disturbing than forensics.

No...I kinda get what you are saying, Fractal. I didn't want to cofront a person's insides either...but I still rode Body Wars!

I guess my original idea was more the high techy detection and spy stuff.

But yeah...I guess I can't really see the ride that would be based on this...

I still think a whole pavillion about wealth would be cool...I can even see that ride in my head! mmmmmmm money.

Seriously though...what kind of chemistry?

I can actually see a whole pavillion about genetic science that might be kinda cool.

I guess my thoughts still run towards the old Epcot, which tried to teach a little somethin' before the modern thrill ride days...

and I don't really know how anything we have mentioned so far is going to work as a ride.

^A science pavillion is just too broad....

We could mix in your original idea of the tech side.

Or.....a computers pavillion. I even have the idea for a ride-A Journey Through The Internet. It would take you through how information travels from one computer to another. Sponsored by Apple, the pavillion would also explain the inner workings of a computer.

I think what I mean is, when I hear forensics, I think, autopsies, collecting blood and __________ samples... not really Disney Friendly kind of stuff.

An internet pavilion could be awesome, a ride through the internet itself could be cool

A science pavilion could showcase the history of our understanding of the world around us and how we use sciences to manipulate it. Think the imagination pavilion only science.

Okay,it appears we are down to science and computers.

I like both, but I'm going to have to vote for computers. Both have big potential.

Let's do computers.

We could do both a dark ride and a thrill ride, all sorts of hands on things, it could be great and seems to have a lot of energy behind it.

Love this idea! An internet dark ride could be so cool!

Would it be a slow moving omnimover type, you think?

I imagine it would have to be if we are also incorporating the idea of a fast coaster!

I'm getting excited about this!

and what should the hand's on exhibit be about exactly?

Something about technology information (made possible by the internet)and how it continues to change our lives?

I was going to make it an omnimover. Sone parts would have tunnels with projections that make you feel like you're going faster (Like SRS in MK). For the hands on exhibit I was thinking how the inner workings of a computer work.

Would an apple store be too tacky? It might be a good way to secure sponsorship.

We should start thinking of names for the pavilion too...

Two restaurants... a quick service called the internet cafe which would specialize in sandwiches, baked goods, and coffee.

And a table service called Megabites... This would feature the new Microsoft tables with data about your food and beverages displayed on the table itself. The decor could be futuristic with lots of red and blue everywhere, perhaps evocative of Tron without being too obvious.

Thoughts?

Ok, I'm gonna get started on the two restaurants...

The Internet Cafe is a bustling Quick-Service eatery located inside the Marvels of Computing Pavilion. (I just put that name in as a place-holder) This family friendly bistro serves hearty sandwiches, bake goods, and boasts the finest cups of coffee this side of Seattle.

Guests will enjoy artwork inspired by various internet phenomenons from the past two decades, ie, a portrait of chocolate chips falling from the sky, of the dramatic gopher done Andy Warhol style. Selections will of course be based on family appropriateness.

My only worry here is that the internet cafe could quickly become dated, so perhaps I will rethink the design elements.

How funny...I saw the exact same thing Fractal...those amazing microsoft tables that have all the info on them! Aren't they touch screen though?

It would be great if you could also order digitally from your table.

Would there have to be a placemat part of the table where you set the food down on?

I don't think an internet cafe will become obsolete considering that ther eis no free wifi in disney world anywhere...

This kind of fills a gap...at least right now.

I'm up for designing visuals on any of this...

My only thing is...I will be gone Friday night and all weekend, so I would have to have them done early this time around.

and do we have a leader yet?
Fractal? Figmntal? Anyone else wanna lead this thing?
