The House of Mouse will be a new buffet character dinner show in Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland in California. Join Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and the whole gang as you dine in the House of Mouse restaurant located next to Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin. The menu will be similar to Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort, with the added bonus of a stage show around the Fab Five. A rotating cast of characters will meet and greet at the tables each night, each from classic Disney films such as Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Pinocchio, and The Little Mermaid. In the end, this restaurant will hopefully add a popular new dining option in Disneyland for the whole family to enjoy.

House of Villains-Griffyndor

Replacing the Hocus Pocus themed show, arriving October 2018 will be a new stage show themed to the House of Mouse Villain takeover. Guests will delight to see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisy, and Max running the House of Mouse. Similar to the show, villains will take over the theatre and put on their own show. Villains to appear: Cruela, Madam Mim, Gaston, Prince John, Dr Facilier, Captain Hook and Smee, and a gigantic puppet/creature of Chernabog. Of course Mickey and company will win and send the villains packing! The show will include clips from classic movies and an original song from the villains called "Our time to Shine"....

^ Why thank you Fox&Hound!:)

I didn't know so many people would be interested in this challenge! - I just thought it was an extra fun one like the parade last round. With that said - I will make the amendment to the original challenge post...but just like the mini-challenges ...

We will cap it at 4 projects per House (so 4 people can submit per House).

That way the points don't get too lopsided too fast.:bookworm: Thank you!

Hi, can I still join?
Hello! Welcome!

We are currently in the middle of a challenge right now, however we can add you to a team (maybe one that could use an extra player @MonorailRed )

In the meantime, you're more than welcome to do the House of Mouse challenge to get your feet wet. Basically you can make an attraction based on any Disney animated film from the late 80s - 90s.

House of Mouse – The Game’s Afoot! (A Hufflepuff submission)

Situated in Toontown is the House of Mouse, a full size building whose main attraction is The Game’s Afoot which is reminiscent of the Magic Kingdom game: A Pirate's Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas, but this game will have 3 different difficulty levels so every age has a chance to play and many different mysteries to solve in each level with interchangeable endings to keep it repeatable.

IMG_6187-800x445.jpg

The guests scan their Detective License (plastic cards given at the start of the game) with the Crimeputers (Crime Computer) located throughout the House of Mouse that will give guests clues based on which game they’re playing and may lead them all over Toontown in search of the culprit; if someone gets stuck, he or she can consult the Magic Mirror located in the foyer for additional hints.

The culprits will range from lesser known characters like the Phantom Blot, Ratigan, Honest John and Gideon to more recent villains like Pete and Mortimer, and will also feature interchangeable story lines and villains to accommodate a Christmas and Halloween overlay.

If guests (tired parents) need a break, they can relax at tables in the main theater room watching cartoon shorts on the main screen with Mike the Microphone occasionally dropping in with commentary while their children explore the many rooms like: the foyer, backstage, control room, dressing rooms, kitchen, and prop room all with interactive elements such as doors that open to reveal the Fantasia brooms sweeping in the janitor’s closet, and sound effect buttons and knobs in Horace Horsecollar’s control room.
latest

This attraction with an interactive quest element seen at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and even the cruise line, but absent in Disneyland will have a little bit for everyone, including a meet and greet outside the front doors with Max in his valet uniform, but please excuse him if he has to leave every now and then to park a car; it is his job you know.

Year Five: O.W.L Exams (In the Laughin' Place)
2016-06-07.png

In your 5th year at Hogwarts, a major component of your education is taking your O.W.L. exams.

For The House Cup, we are going to take a different spin on these exams...a spin towards the "Laughin' Place"

As an option for extra House Points, each team my submit one exam for a total of 35 House Points. The House with the funniest and most unique exam answers will get 50 points.

You may decide among your Housemates whether you want to work together to find the funniest answers, or want to let one person take the whole thing, or just skip it, as this is optional. :)

Just a fun activity to tie in with Year Five and add a bit of humor and levity to the challenge :p

*Please though....try to keep your answers as G-rated as possible. As tempting as some may be ...keep those answers in the PMs and only post family-friendly answers....there's kids here:hilarious: If you answer gets censored, we are not going to count it for points, just a warning.

We're sure there's plenty of answers that will be funny and clean.

This exam is due Friday June 10th at 11:59 PM EST - the exam is posted below - Enjoy!:D

In light of our spirited, creative duel last round, I hereby invoke Educational Degree Number D23 and challenge @MonorailRed to another duel in Year Five.

This will be different than before, however. For any new members or members who haven't seen it, @MonorailRed 's passion project has been Walt Disney World 1966 - which reboots Walt Disney World from the ground up starting from scratch in 1966.

It's a fun, blue-sky project that everyone is welcome to join in and pitch ideas for. And most likely will kick back up into full gear after The House Cup ends:)

To expedite the creative process, the city of E.P.C.O.T. will be a part of the new WDW Resort. I challenge Red to design a Disney University campus for the city - a full fledged college with dorms, classrooms, etc and where it will be in Epcot. Best of the two projects will go into the 1966 project!:D

Let's set a due date for Friday June 10th at 11:59 PM EST along with the O.W.L. Exams - sound good?

Due Date for this has been extended by an hour - but expect some Disney University campuses tonight!

Students at Disney University can choose from a variety of majors. Specializing in certain fields such as engineering, architecture, musical theater, art, and more, Disney University will be a vibrant academic center, with a plethora of courses to allow the students to explore new and exciting fields.

Students won't have to declare their major until Junior Year, and in their Freshman Year, are encouraged to try new subjects and fields, to get a broader liberal arts education.

One of the most popular tracts at Disney University is our "Imagineer-track" where students take courses designed to prepare them for a career in themed entertainment. In 1967, Disney University admitted 47% of the application pool, and out of the 47%, 32% had signed up for the Imagineer-track, which would look like this for a typical student.

Students of Disney University will be blessed with the most modern of amenities, and a nurturing academic, as well as personal environment. With just a Peoplemover ride away from E.P.C.O.T., or a rapid transit Monorail Ride to the theme park district of Walt Disney World, the students at Disney University will have a lap of luxury at their disposal.

As seen on the campus map, one of the unique features of Disney University is that the buildings on campus are connected by utilidors. This way students can bring their inventions into different academic wings without having to go outside. It also enables an A/C walking path, so students don't have to bear the scorching heat when walking to class. This also provides a connected feel to the campus, and a campus design that is not unique, as campuses such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology use a similar design.
mittunnels.png

The major Halls are named after Imagineers at WED Enterprises. Most of the halls feature very modern designs that blend in with the futuristic design of E.P.C.O.T., featuring contemporary gray backgrounds, and chrome compliments
hr_stairslobby_4831.jpg

Disney University features 3 major sports complexes, which are home to the Disney University Dreamers. DU is a Division I school in 12 different sports including:
Baseball, Football, Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, Tennis, Golf, Lacrosse, Swimming, Diving, Volleyball, and Rowing

The Student Union, the "hub" of extracurricular activities, is housed Ken Anderson Hall, with a wide variety of student organizations including:
The Society of Junior Imagineers, Outdoors Club, Band Club, Art Club, Lyndon B. Johnson Club, Civil Rights Club, Future Astronaut Club, People Watching Club (I had this club at my school...it exists), Singing Club, Knitting Club, Poetry Club, D23 Club, Club 33, Club 52, and much much more.

slide_342214_3537635_free.jpg

The main library on campus is in Mary Blair Hall. There is also a Student Dining Hall nearby, as well as small food trucks throughout the campus.

Students have the option of living in the on-campus dormitories in Rolly Crump Quad or choosing to live off campus in the greater Orlando Area.

4 - Recreation
4f9e536541c3d71a999acda8d1d931e2.jpg

Students have many places to go after classes are over and they are looking for a study break. Aside from the plethora of sports and club options on-campus, students can explore the greater Walt Disney World area, including the theme parks and the city, with just a quick Peoplemover or Monorail Ride.

Special discounted student passes to the parks are available, and students who partake in the WED Enterprises Internship over the summer of their Sophomore-Junior Year will have a 6 week intensive program in both WDW and Disneyland Resort in California, learning about all the new endeavors of WED and how they are pushing towards progress.

Students who live off campus can explore attractions in the Orlando area (though most students tend to stay in the WDW area)

5 - Transportation
The Green-Line Peoplemover travels through the Green Belt and Perfect Park Acres areas of suburban E.P.C.O.T., where the main campus is located. While the Medical School campus and Teaching Hospital are located close-by the main campus, the Law School and Management Grad School Buildings are located in the heart of the city, near the judicial centers and business hubs.

The Green-Line will take two stops before arriving at the hub of the city, where students can take transportation to the airport if they are going home for the holidays, or to the theme park district.

Overall, Disney University inspires one and all with a dream of creating and a dream of the future. It encourages its students to try new things and challenge themselves, in an environment that stimulates the mind and gives everyone the opportunity to succeed. Disney University is a vital part of E.P.C.O.T. as it signifies the growing community of tomorrow by teaching the minds of the future.
