The Haunted Mansion "Story"

Raven--that is the story that I have heard--that Imagineers basically abandoned the story--precisely why Cast Members made up stories for each of the ghosts and exactly why Imagineers are constantly adding new things to it (the OFFICIAL hidden mickey with the Grim Reaper, the pet cemetery, the hearse, the broken bird bath, the Madamme Leota tombstone)...every couple years they add a new artifact...it further convolutes the stories attached to the ride...

you guys read the "real" ghost stories from cast members that worked there? pretty eerie stuff. some of them swear they're true, and even if they're not, i'd like to think so!

I'm sure the mansion DOES have lots of stories about real CM encounters.

I have worked in an old vaudville theatre for many years and have come comfortable with the strange things that have happend to me there when I would be by myself at 3AM working on lights for the current production. They don't freak me out anymore. I seem to draw them to me because I am not afraid. I even have some"thing" taking care of my plants in my apartment! No voices or any apparitions, just a friendly presence that let's me know that they are there once in a while by flickering on and off a light in the corner.

I would love to hear some of the stories from the CM's there about their encounters. Just to see if they are only scaring themselves.

Probably Skeleton Dance. It does have the spirit of the Haunted Mansion graveyard (OK, I know, bad pun).

Doombuggies.com had some really creepy stories. But during my CM time, the other Custodials told me the story of the Pirates of the Caribean ghost. I forget his name, but he kinda "controls" the attraction. Like, if you go in there and say you don't believe in him, the ride goes 101 and does not restore untill you apologise.

I heard a rumor that, in or under the Disneyland version, there is a book that contains a story for all 999 happy haunts. I'm pretty sure I've seen pictures of it. Has anyone else ever heard of this?
