but if its for free, then why not! id honestly take it just for the monorail and probably just spend the resort time over at GF...
Remember this is a HYPOTHETICAL upgrade...in all probability someone booked at a value is not going to be upgraded to deluxe, even with construction going on. And if there is some issue with availability more than a day or two prior to check in, Disney would CALL, explain the situation and ask your permission to be moved.

This exact situation happened to us when we were booked in a new royal room at POR and construction was not completed in time for our arrival date. We were asked if Poly was ok and of course we said yes.

I stayed there in June one pretty good AP discount on the room. Pool was still open but the GCH was all under wraps. It hardly mattered at all.

Not necessarily. I work at a resort and we had some issues at our resort a couple weeks back and we asked plenty of families at check in if they would like to be upgraded to a one bedroom villa at Saratoga.
