I just tried too -- no luck

@kmbmw777 -- click on your username in the top right corner, go to privacy...then scroll to the bottom there should be an option for "Start conversations with you" -- and you wanna make sure there's a check next to it and have it say 'members only' - which allows someone to send you a PM
