Pre-Trip The fuuun has arriiiived!: A September 2018 pre-trip report

Hello everybody, I’m Emily. Welcome to my pre-trip report! For those who don’t know me, I don’t blame you :hilarious:. I make my way around the forums but I am primarily a “Lurk n’ Liker” (trademark: me. Just made that up now). Just consider me a shifty-eyed crocodile, because I “lurk... lurk… lurk” (name that Disney attraction!). If you do know me it may be because I’ve graced your trip report with a rare comment or perhaps you read my sister’s (@krause) trip report for our February 2018 trip with her husband and kids and our parents, which can be found here. Here’s a few pictures of us to jog your memory:

Aren’t my niece and nephew the cutest?! Kinley is actually turning 3 this coming week and is having a “Belle Beast Paw Patrol Princess Party” at her request. :joyfull:

This trip, however, will not be with my family. A friend of mine, Kaitlyn, and I have booked a trip together for this September. This is my 10th trip to Walt Disney World. Kaitlyn’s first trip was with me and two other friends of ours in 2015. She has been once more since then. Sadly, the two friends who joined us on our first trip together couldn’t make it this trip. Here’s the four of us on our April 2015 trip, which celebrated us graduating from university:

We don’t really do “normal” :hilarious:. Kaitlyn is the one on the far right and I am beside her. Here’s just the two of us, all dressed up for my birthday day in Disney:

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates but we are officially doing the single-digit dance!

Just 9 days until we're in the bubble! I can't believe how fast it has come. Since we have booked the trip Kaitlyn and I found an apartment. I officially got the keys last Thursday, however, Kaitlyn can't move here until next Monday... so yes, we will move in to our apartment 3 days before we leave for Disney o_O I continue to feel super swamped and I can't wait to get away from it all!

One thing I believe I forgot to mention was an issue with my ticket. About a year and a half ago I splurged on buying a Canadian resident ticket even though I didn't have any plans to go to WDW. It was just such a good deal!:hilarious: Anyway, because we booked a Disney resort in February I wasn't able to add it to the package so I just ended up buying an all-new ticket. So I am finally using it for this trip. However, because we get there early on our first day we needed a 7-day ticket and I only had a 6-day. When I first called Disney to upgrade to a 7-day they said I would have to pay the difference, in American, from the 6-day Canadian Resident ticket to the standard 7-day ticket. This was like $160USD (or about $210CAD). You may have already figured out that this is more money than a 1-day ticket. I decided I would buy a 1-day ticket but would wait until we knew we could make it into a park on our arrival day. Then, this last week they introduced a new Canadian Resident ticket deal! It wasn't as good as the original so I still had to pay the difference but it's only available online so I decided to go for it. I ended up having to pay about $87USD so I'm really hoping it's not money down the drain! I had booked fastpasses for only Kaitlyn on our last day since I previously only had a 6-day. I was able to add myself to two of the fastpasses but I'm still hunting the website for a single SDMT fastpass for myself. Fingers crossed!

Anyways, our plans haven't changed much otherwise. I put in a request a few weeks ago with the touringplans reservation finder for Homecomin' but no luck yet! I'm craving their fried chicken so bad :hilarious:
