This trailer was not for us this trailer was for the masses who haven't been following every detail online. Why else real ease it during football. They wanted all those guys at the movie too. How many people just thought "Hey a new Star Wars movie!"
I don't think anyone just learned that there is a new Star Wars movie while watching Monday Night Football. This was just about getting people to watch for a bit since the actual time wasn't set in stone.

Nothing in that trailer made me scream "I MUST SEE THIS OPENING WEEKEND".

Based on the fact several online ticket brokers were knocked offline or their sites were severely impacted with very long response times says quite a few people felt otherwise.

This movie won't appeal to everyone but from the outside looking in, it looks like the Star Wars film fans have been waiting for since 1983.

As of this morning both showings for the local IMAX theater are sold out for 12/17 & all evening/night showings on 12/18 are as well. Standard size theaters have the ability to add screens to account for heavy demand so I expect quite a few screens to show TFA opening weekend.

In the UK online ticket brokers are reporting 4x the sales volume of the previous record holder Harry Potter.

Judge the movie by it's trailer, do you? So certain are you!

It's not always an accurate reflection. Here was an awesome trailer. But then you saw the movie and thought, "That was it?"
