What do you do when you get to your hotel to late to go to a park. What is your itinerary for the day? Pool, moonlight cruise, DDD, or just a walk around the hotel.

Since we drive, we usually take naps and shower, then usually grab something to eat. We like to visit the other resorts, so sometimes thats what we do, that or just stay and relax at the hotel.

Grab a bite to eat in Downtown Disney (Wolf Gang Puck's Express), explore the hotel and depending on the night of the week go to Pleasure Island. 16 days and counting.....:animwink:

One thing I like to do when I first get to Disney and I know that I am not going into the park that day, is check out some Disney Hotels. Me and my sister usually hop on the monorail, and visit Polynesian and the Floridian, to just hang out. We go sit on the swings at the Floridian and wait for the water show to go by. We'll aslo check out Downtown Disney and go shopping. That is always something fun to do the first night. Sometimes we'll go to the Wilderness Lodge and eat dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe (SOOO GOOD!)

:( I want to go back!

When i get there late, we usually explore the hotel, and get a bite to eat. Artisit's Point at the Wilderness Lodge is very good and usually not to crowded later in the evening. Then go back to the hotel and jump in the pool. It is usually the only chance we get to go swimming, since the other's date are usually spent in the park.

Coming from England our first day is not really our first day...ill explain.
After the loooooooooong plane ride everyone is Exhausted with a capital E. But we try and stay awake because optherwirse you wake up soooo easrly ...like 3....because of the Jet Lag. When the plane touches down we go to the hotel..unpack...explore and then we head down to downtown disney...we get a little something to eat and then watch a movie...normally a disney one!!! this is great because not only does it keep you up we also get to see a film before anyone else in england! (This year...bring on Lilo and Stitch!!!) then we go back to the hotel and collapse.
Now after youve done all this anyone from England will know that you still wake up early...reall early even after your so tired you could :snore: standing up...and trust me this has been done...ask my grandma....
Anywho we take adavantage of the early strart to go and do AK Kilamanjaro Safaris when it first opens...there are sooooo many more animals about....and then we go to typhoon lagoon and rest the whole day to get up energy back up.....
Only two weeks and one day.....im nearly there....

If it's not worth going to the parks on the first day, check out Downtown Disney and do a bit of shopping. Or you can to go to one of the MK resorts and grab yourself a pontoon boat and go for a cruse around the lagoon. Minispeed boats are available too. Resort hopping is fun to as everyone mentioned. The boardwalk has plenty to see too. Go for a round of Fantasia minigolf? All I can say is get the most out of the first day as you can.

Have a blast!!!:sohappy:

I usually visit some hotels, grab a pina colada at Ohana (always getting there via the monorail) take a ride to Epcot (via the monorail) and then head to DD or go play mini golf!

DOES IT MATTER...YOU'RE IN WALT DISNEY WORLD :)

Whatever you do, you're sure to have a smile on your face :)

Everyone is saying Downtown Disney, but don't forget the Boardwalk. They've got good restaurants, the ESPN Club, nice shopping and gift shops....

Consider checking out the Boardwalk.

I like the idea of taking the monorail ............scribbles more detail into itinery .....................i had decided to do nothing much but explore and eat and eat some more

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, thats a big CD made from vinyl kids, Ye i too favour the DTD food fest followed by a little bit of retail therapy, which if youre staying at PO can be done by boat an excellent experience.

Having consulted my intercot Planner 417 days to go.:)

The trips we've arrived later in the day, we've always tried to head out and explore on foot as much as possible, for two reasons. First, everyone usually needs to stretch their legs after a LOOOOONG trip, and second, the Disney magic really settles in when we don't rush frantically off to a park the second we hit Disney property. Explore the grounds of your hotel, hit the pool, head to Downtown Disney (now THERE'S an idea no one else thought of, huh? )

Just relax - after all, you're on vacation, not searching for the Holy Grail!

If you are like me; a guy who doesn't want to waste time, although there's not much time and wants to visit it all, try to catch a water park your first day. Choose between Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. I'd choose TL for the crowds.

hell yeah... sorry :zipit: The Boardwalk is my home!

Since we don't live that far from WDW in driving distance (only 2 1/2 hours), we usually check in around 11:30/ 12-ish and head to the MK and eat lunch at Casey's!! Well, I'm the only one that likes Casey's. My mom and dad prefer the pizza and salad at the Plaza in Tomorrowland, so if I reaaaalllly want my hot dog, I have to walk to Casey's, get my hot dog, and bring my food allll the way back to the Plaza. But I don't mind. I usually finish all my fries on the way back to the Plaza :slurp:

My lunch menu:

The bigger of the two types of hot dogs that they serve with sourkraut and mustard
fries
Coke

:slurp: Now Im starting to get really hungry...

For my next trip, my plane doesnt get to Orlando until 9 pm. I will probably grab a bite to eat at Carribean Beach where I am staying then walk around the hotel. Since I wont get to my hotel until 10:30 pm or so, gotta relax a little but not too much. Hey its WDW, gotta squeeze out every moment!
