I could swear that its atleast hinted to in the movie. Tia and davey jones ahd this whoel scene where he was saying why she wasnt there.
TEchnically it doesnt matter. Remember she can lift the curse any time she wants .
All I know is that when I went to that special thing at the world of disney store in NYC Michael Singer stated that Johnny DEPP loved the character and was ready and willing to do a fourth Movie. So the main character is willing to come back.
Like I stated above I remember a scene between tia and davey jones where they talked about the 10years part and that she wasnt there when he came on land after the 10 years.
