The ending of Pirates 3....A new look at it!!!

I guessing Turd Ferguson. . .

Yea I don't know about that 10 years later thing...I thought it was threeve years later.

Anywho, I love knowing this now. Call me a girl but the ending the way it was left me so sad that Will and Liz could only see each other once every 10 years. :( But this Happily ever after is just fine with me.

I am dissapointed it ended up with Elizabeth and Will together...it would have been a perfect end if he could only see her every ten years. The movie series would have come around full circle...Will and Elizabeth wanting to be together, Jack all alone in his dingy, and Barbossa with the Pearl. That would have been a fitting end. :)

I did the same thing. For three days, I kept thinking about how they just had to be together. But when I found that article on MovieMistakes.com, I flipped out and ran in to show Radiohost (I'm the sister he referred to). I just love happy endings.

I loved the wedding scene! I liked how Barbossa just got up in the middle of fighting and started preaching.

Haha I thought that was great too. And is it weird that I also kind of found it weirdly romantic? Maybe it was just the long, cheesey, loud-orchestra-music kiss that did it for me lol.

For anyone who posted above about it appearing on youtube..I found one or two that either were just posted, or Disney missed while blocking the others.

Not that I condone copyright infringments or anything...they're just up there.

Everyone was like "awwwwww" when they were kissing, I was cringing coz I thought at any moment one of them was gonna get a sword through their back!

Good point.

I want to know what the kid will be called, I thought at first perhaps it would be another William (two generations already, might as well keep it going) but now I think maybe he'll be named in memory of Elizabeth's father (his name escapes me at the moment though....)

I'll have to go watch it again, and see if his name appears in the credits. Anyone catch this?

Does this have to do with the ending at the credits. I left during the credits. I didnt know that there was something after it?? Is the more of a explanation?

Indeedy! - Do you want us to spoil it for you?

We did the same in the first film, I couldn't understand why the monkey was still undead when all the gold had been put back!

Aftere the credits, Elizabeth is seen on a cliff with a young boy, they have a son! - (who knew you could make babies from kissing someones knee eh?! - Elizabeth hasn't aged a day either, gotta get some of her anti-ageing cream)
Then there is a green flash of light and the Flying Dutchman appears at sea and you see Will sailing back towards them.
As stated above, if the Captain of the Dutchman's true love is waiting for them after their ten years at sea, the curse is lifted, so Will is now free (Pirates 4 anyone?!)

As a side note......
I've been on a bit of a rampage hunting through cafe press t-shirts lately after seeing an awesome monorail spiel one and I've found some classic pirates ones now too....

Actually, since she is wearing his boots, and it looks like he is putting back on his clothes, this is supposed to be symbolizing that they "did it"

I just hope the public school system hasnt failed you so miserably!! lol...im just kidding. They actualy did this in a good way by not having kids in the audience ask there moms and dads "what were they doing"!!

Pretty Clever

My sister showed me this today and I about fell out of my chair!!

First off, dont read any further if you dont want too know any spoilers pertaining to the ending of the movie!!!

You ready??? Ok, good

This was on moviemistakes.com underneath the trivia section on Pirates 3...

According to the article:

"Despite what seems to be indicated in the film, the captain of the Dutchman is not cursed to do that job for eternity. The scenes about the specifics of the curse were cut from the final version. The captain of the Dutchman must do the job for 10 years at a time, coming ashore on his one day every 10 years. If the captain's true love is waiting for him when he returns, his bond to the ship is severed and he can leave being captain and live with his love on land. (all of this is confirmed by Mr. Elliott and Mr. Rossio in the forums at wordplayer.com)."

Heres the link to the article... http://www.moviemistakes.com/film6773/trivia

This too me is awesome, and makes total sense in my opinoun. Dont know if this is what the makers want you to believe, but if Mr. Elliot and Mr. Rosio said this, then I guess I'll take it as the ending...I love it!!!

Very cool. I just saw the film a few hours ago and it was awesome! I hope they put this scene on the At World's End DVD. (There unfortunately weren't any on the Dead Man's Chest DVD).

I was wondering why in the video game of AWE, Will says he needs to "do his time" and Elizabeth says "she'll wait" and be there when it's over.

The game must have been refering to this scene before it was cut out.

I wonder why they cut the scene out. Did they want it to make it more ambiguous? Did they not want to reveal that information unless Will and Elizabeth were definately returning for the fourth film?

That doesn't make any sense though because Bootstrap says the Flying Dutchman must always have a captain. So where does this new captain come from?

Maybe this is why they cut that scene out of the film, because it conflicted with the Pirate lore already established in the movie.

Then again, the souls were shown in the movie going to the other side, even without Davy Jones ferrying them over.

So maybe, if the actual "curse" is lifted, there won't be any need for a captain of the Flying Dutchman. (Maybe the Flying Dutchman will simply disappear since there is no more need for it.)
