You know what's really disappointing?

When I watch a movie and KNOW that I could write a better version of it.
This, Oz, Burtonland, etc.

I mean, I'm no George RR Martin or Joss Whedon, but dammit I know how to tell a story from all the years of reading Crichton and King.

I honest to god wonder if anyone in Hollywood knows how to produce a decent fantasy film anymore. The scripts for Wonderland and Oz were so lame. The Narnia films (at least the two Disney made) had issues too. Dumb dialogue, poor characterization, plots full of holes...geez. Sometimes I watch an old movie like Snow White and The Wizard of Oz and wonder just why the hell the writers back then could do such a fantastic job, but the writers of today can't? What's missing?

Malificent was good, I saw it last night and completely enjoyed it.

Some quick Crafty reviews.

Lego Movie. Absolutely loved it.
Frozen is overrated.
Oz was kinda terrible.
Escape from tomorrow is a complete was of time.

Also, forget Roger Ebert, Pauline Kael is the only critic who's criticism is worth reading.
