The Early Bird Versus The Night Owl...

I love visiting the parks at dawn and in the black of night, but I have to say that I like being a NightOwl more than Being an Early Bird.

One of my favorite memories of being a Night Owl was hanging around Epcot after closing , and just strolling around the park as everyone exits. Be sure to visit imagination at dusk for some great fun with the Jumping Fountains! It's gorgeously lit at night, and it's totally empty!

Another great thing to do at dusk is to take a midnight cruise on Splash Mountain or the Jungle Cruise.

Both...no pills...as long as we keep moving, we keep going...if we stop too long, then it might be nighty, nighty. We've done 3 parks and Cirque in a day...rope drop at DHS, noon to late afternoon at Epcot, early evening into night at DTD and Cirque...late night/early morning at MK. On most trips, it can be rope drop at one park and then move to a second park in the afternoon and finish the night there or go back to the park that has the latest hours.

As a teen and young adult, I could stay in the parks until closing. Many a night, my sister and I would get in line to rude SM at 11:59PM. Now, I have two young kids, who would be trashed for the rest of the trip if we stayed out late. So we are now one of the people who are at rope drop every day, but we are back in our room most nights by 9 so the kids can get to sleep. We miss the night time shows, but it is worth it to have happy, well-rested kids for the trip. Someday they will get older and we will become the night time people.

Both. Well, usually not rope drop, but a few minutes after! We don't go in the summer, however, and are usually still bursting with energy when the darn parks close! I am actually mad about it. They keep taking away emh. Our next trip only 2 emh at night, and they still close at 11 pm. It stinks.

I love em both! I like the days we get there early and can hop on the rides first thing! Sit and enjoy a coke and watch the parks fill up. Or I love the evenings when everything is lit up. Something so romantic about walking hand in hand through Magic Kingdom <3

Myself, DW , and 3 DKiddos are both. No chemical high, Just a Disney high. :)
Maybe when we get into our 70's we'll slow the pace a bit. You know, one night in a week when we don't stay for ALL of EMH. ;)

I've lived in Florida since....1986 I think? And I've never been to the parks at rope drop. Ever. LOL We rarely get there before noon. And lately (as in the past few months when it's been hot) we rarely get there before 5pm or so. Even the few times we've splurged and stayed on property so we didn't have to drive an hour+ to get to the parks first thing in the morning, we slept in and stayed in the room until we HAD to check out. :p So definitely night owls here!

Well looks like it's a win for the night owls, which explains why in July I hit the PORS food court and it's empty, then I hit rope drop at HS and it's still quiet...:)....All hail the night owls......Us early birds thank you from the bottom of our hearts..As for @safaribob saying there's got to be a real good reason to get up early at WDW.....For me,I just have to stand on the bridge at PORS, overlooking the Sassagoula river as the sun rises.I close my eyes, listen to the wildlife, and take a deep breath of that early morning pixie dust..Yep..That does it for me....;)

Welcome back Hatter. Hope you had a great holiday. For me its early morning. From rope drop I can make it to Epcot fireworks but never made it yet to a late opening in Magic Kingdom. (2am) Maybe this year?

We are up early making it to rope drop most mornings. Btwn 11 and 1pm we head back to the resort. rest, swim and a adult beverage or 2. Then Dinner ADRs and finish the day at the parks late. We always stay on site so we can take a break midday without a commute to an offsite resort.

In all the years we've been to WDW it's always been rope drop. Now we've seen all the evening fireworks many times over and so now days, we are usually out of the park by dark, go and get a good dinner and back to the room for sleep.

My vote goes towards 'Night Owl'. Just so folks don't recognize me.....

No...seriously, i enjoy the Parks at night. I find the crowd has a different energy, and not so many toddlers/infants.
