In the Parks
No
There are still two empty storefronts to the right of d lander as well
Edit: Hard to tell if one or two because there are two doors, but I believe one of them is going to be a Nectar Life.

Is the Parkside Market open yet?
The offiicial website still says coming soon ( https://www.parksidemarketla.com/ ) and nothing on DTD Instagram page.

I am curious how it will flow because seems to be just a food court . 1 QS window outside Sip and Sonder and the other two inside. Will be pretty crowded at dining times building doesnt seem to big and will probably need more tables and chairs outside. I do like the second story bar though. I originally thought the entire building was for the market and each suite housed an individual restaurant .

"Nectar Life is a collection of plant-based, cruelty-free personal care products that fill each day with moments of sensorial delight and much-needed whimsy."

YES! This is exactly what I need in my life; sensorial-delight and much-needed whimsy. 🤣

I am actually going up to South Coast Plaza tomorrow (Monday) to visit my old pal and personal shopper at Nordstrom. I have half a mind to seek out Nectar Life on the mall map and see if they can deliver some whimsy to me if I stroll into that store.

What was the similar store, but a 1990's version of this commercial strategy, that was in Downtown Disney when it opened in 2001? Thinking hard, not Googling, thinking, thinking... not the Body Shoppe.... Basin! They sold shower bombs and moisture masks and such, next to what is now the ice cream shop. I wonder if Nectar Life will last as long as Basin did?

Hey, just bring back Spencer's and we're all good.

Where is the new Earl of Sandwich supposed to be located?
Behind the Parkside complex and the park.

Holeeee Strip Mall! Is that what Downtown Disney now looks like?

I drove up to OC today to do some shopping, but got nowhere near Anaheim. And last week my family had no desire to do a Disneyland visit. But now I'm kicking myself for not leaving a couple hours earlier today and checking out the World Class Anaheim Resort District.

That's the new Earl of Sandwich? It looks like a sterile white box with a rooftop patio. Am I supposed to be immersed?

Is anyone immersed by this? 🤔

To be fair, it's not there yet. It's still in the former La Brea location at the moment.

But yes, that part of DTD looks like that now, and honestly, it works a lot better in person than I expected it to. The only place that looks like that where it doesn't work at all, IMO, is the former Ralph Brennan's.

The new section built for DTD is fantastic. It’s busy, full of life at night, and the aesthetic is great. Way better than the rest of DTD imo.

The new parts are all thematically consistent at least but they need some tables on that half as I don't want to sit on the astroturf.

I also don't known why 1950s high school is the theme they went with or if they plan to redo the rest of downtown disney to match it.

Ah, okay. This is the former AMC Theater location that they hilariously branded a stunning new lifestyle space...

"Kicking off the project, the former AMC Theatres building and adjacent area will be completely transformed into a stunning new lifestyle space. Drawing inspiration from Southern California mid-century modern architecture, the area will be a beautiful blend of vibrant color palettes, multi-cultural design elements and patterns, an open lawn for relaxation and future events, and an even broader collection of dining and shopping." -Disney Press Release, 2021

But the artwork leaves a bit to be desired, and doesn't quite live up to the word salad a Comms intern belched up a few years ago, does it? I'm not seeing a "lifestyle space", nor am I seeing "vibrant color palettes" that are blended or otherwise. Technically, white is a color, but... And what's a "multi-cultural pattern"? The white stucco?

I imagine they're referring to the artificial green when they're talking about the lifestyle space.

For all the corporate gobbledegook of a description, it really does work quite well in practice. It's certainly more inviting than any of the older parts of DTD that have remained basically unchanged, apart from a paint job or two, from 2001. There's more space for people to sit, relax, and enjoy any entertainment that might be going on than there was before.

Would it be considered more of a Googie styling?
