The Disney disapointment

If anyone can take off their Disney is Great glasses, they could at least understand what the OP is saying. The simple answer is yes, the parks are far worse in service and quality compared to decades past.

That is your opinion, which you are entitled to. It is not a fact, and the truth is I don't agree with you.

Maybe you need to take of your Negative Nelly glasses.;)

I ama current cast member and I am disappointed in my Disney experience. Ever since I can remember Disney stood for quality. It wasn't just a vacation it was Disney . We went every year there was something for everyone. Last year I moved to Florida and the first place I got a job was wdw. In my head I thought this was awesome . I quickly found out this was not the same place it was in 1997. For starters Disney did no background check. I worked in attractions and everybody was miserable. The pay was 8.50 full time . I couldn't even eat or get gas to get to work. No castmembers were smiling . If they smiled at all it was the fake if I don't smile I'll get fired.I met cast members who lived in their cars. I saw Disney college program students whose hearts were broken . I kept thinking maybe its me what's wrong with me . Then I decided to use my free pass and go visit the parks. Most of the parks were dirty which used to be a Disney sin. Some of the lines at attractions were walkons. Never on vacation with my family was I not waiting in line. Then there were the lines that tookhrs and by the time you got there all my favorite Disney animatronics and classic scenes were replaced by movie screens that you ride past. Either that or they'd throw modern Disney like jack sparrow in pirates of the carribean .To me modern Disney cheapens the experience. Disney pretty much ignores any animated films before toy story. Which is made even more apparent when you meet former animators who are toiling in their new positions in merchandise or quick service. Disney used tone creative enough to make their own story. Now they just wheel a bunch of money up to George Lucas and Steven Spielberg's door , steal their creation and call it there own. Its disappointing. I cant be the only one who notices that Disney is now on the level of six flags in quality. The purpose of Disney was to be a place for all ages where anyone could find sometihing they like. All they care about now is greed power and numbers...so sad. Sorry Walt ABC is killing your dream and our memories.
Everyone here probably already knows my response to this post so I will just stay silent and will try not to feed the troll. The corn is popped.

I tried to hold my tounge but...Thank you daisyduckie you said it perfectly. Decades ago the parks were stagnant. Eisner ignored Disneyland until it almost fell apart and built hotels in Orlando. How many actual new attractions did we actually see at MK under Eisner's reign? I really can't remember. Maybe 1 or 2 the entire time? I know we lost at least one due to a water leak. Yeah a leak. Ughh. I'll keep looking for all of the trash. I still haven't seen it.

You tried to hold your tongue? Odd given corporate boosting has been your role since arriving on these shores. Just sayin like. No offence.

Im never disappointed by WDW. Mainly cause I have such low expectations to begin with.

I love the argument that it sucked a decade ago so its OK that its crappy now. Gotta love the magic.

That is not how I read the argument. The point seemed to me to be that the parks are improved over what they were 10 years ago. There is for sure a lot more building/refurbishing going on.

In the 70s, you never saw trash on the ground. If someone, mistakenly or purposefully, dropped something on the ground, a CM with broom and sweep basket were there in seconds out of nowhere cleaned it up, and returned to their inconspicuous spot. Now, there is trash on the ground until a CM eventually makes way to it.
You really are delusional in your thinking. I went there in the 70's as an adult, and it was never swept up in seconds out of nowhere. Did it stay on the ground all day? Nope, but it doesn't today either.

One also has to remember that people were a LOT more respectful of the parks back then. Today you get all kinds of rubes that think it's OK to throw their trash on the ground, instead of walking 10 feet to the nearest trash can.

Thread starter gets the wood, throws on the scout water & ignites the negativity :arghh:. That's why its always good to have buckets of water to cool things down here @ WDW Magic ;)

Given the effort Disney puts into media management with the web based drones placed to push the corporate line youd think they would be just as well building the damn attractions.Still there will be lots to look forward to in five years. Uf we are still here

First of all, if you want people to agree with you, your grammar needs to be checked (I'm just saying...). Secondly, I do thank you for your point of view, but if you were that upset, why stay? Maybe this is your opinion, but it's NOT everyones. From what I have experienced in life, when one person is unhappy, they tend to think the group is.
