The Definitive (kind of, not really) DLR Fantasyland Dark Ride Rankings

My rankings are:
1. Alice in Wonderland
2. Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin
3. Mr. Toads Wild Ride
4. Pinocchios Daring Journey
5. Snow Whites Scary Adventures
6. The Little Mermaid
7. Peter Pans Flight
8. Monsters Inc.
9. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

They are all excellent rides compared to every other dark ride in the country. We could have ended up with something that looks like this:

This is from Dracula's Castle at Lagoon in Utah. Don't get me wrong I love a great cheesy dark ride but its not Disney. Terror Ride is also great in a cheesy fashion. I love the part were they steal dialog from Curse of the Black Perl for the headless horseman scene.

As many of you know, I'm an ex-Classics (Fantasyland) attractions CM, so I'm very much attached to those rides, and have a little bias.

1. Pan
2. Alice
3. Pinocchio
4. Snow
5. Toad
6. Roger
7. Pooh
8. Monsters
9. Mermaid

I agree with @Kira Nerys than Snow White is the scariest ride in the entire park. I've been scared of that ride since I was a little girl. I remember hearing people screaming in the attraction and seeing small children crying their eyes out after getting off. I used to pray the ride didn't break down so I wouldn't have to walk through it. That was even scarier than riding it.

Pinocchio, Snow White, and Pan are pretty much a toss-up for me, but I put Pan at the top of that pack for the ride system. I’ve only been on Monsters once, soon after it opened, but I remember getting off feeling unenthused and haven't bothered with it since.

It's mostly because of the ride system and first 3 scenes. Eventhough London isn't as great as it used to be.

And the ride system is pretty cool too. I wish there was at least one AA figure in the ride and that it was about 30 seconds longer.

For Pinocchio, it's a pure sentimental thing. Going through Gepetto's village with the music in the background leading to the blue fairy effect as Pinocchio is reunited with his father, it brings a tear to my eye.
Funnily enough, the "village" scene is one of my biggest complaints about that ride. There's nothing at all going on in that room and it feels like wasted space to me.

On the topic of Pan's popularity, I think it's a combination of a few different factors which all inform each other: It's reputation as a "classic" Disney attraction (like Tea Cups and Dumbo), it's ride system and it's low capacity which inflates the line and makes it seem more popular than it really is.

I think I'd have to say my favorite dark ride is Toad just because of its legacy.

By scariest in the park you mean only DL not counting DCA right? Because Mickeys Fun Wheel and Goofys Sky School are pretty terrifying.

I agree with Monsters. It has a cool few scenes like the Sushi scene and the doors scene is great but it just doesn't come together for some reason. Even with all of the more modern bells and whistles. I think the nature of story lends itself more to a crazy ride and faster pace like Toad and Roger but instead your crawling though every scene on those taxis.

Yes, I meant Disneyland only.

MFW is terrifying in a different way. When I'm on Snow White, I feel like I'm in a horror movie and someone's trying to kill me. On the Fun Wheel, I feel like I'm going to fall to my death.

Ya Snow White is great even if only for the simple fact that it would never be built today. Not for kids, not with the current storyline.

I get scared in the scene with the trees, bats and crocodiles.

When you stand across from the Fun Wheel and just listen to the sounds of people screaming, it seems as though Titanic is making its final plunge into that ugly lagoon.

Very true, and you have to respect it for that. It's a great ride and I hope it never closes.

We got to ride it with lights out...the sound may have been turned off as well. It was terrifying.

Ditto, that section is the scariest. The background music doesn't help.

The screams coming from folks on the Fun Wheel are hysterical.

I just skimmed through a ride-thru on YouTube to refresh myself, and you've nailed it. It desperately needs some kind of frantic feeling. Being skinned over the carcass of Limo kind of doomed it.

We were just at the resort for the Star Wars Half Marathon, and took our boys on the Fun Wheel for their first experience in the swinging gondolas. While it was hysterical to watch them (happily) FREEEAAAK OUT, I'll remember to bring ear plugs next time.

Ear plugs are great for the ride! I'm like your family, I scream at the top of my lungs while clutching to the sides of the gondola.

The first time I rode the Fun Wheel I was in line for the swinging gondola with my sister and cousin, there was another group of three next to us so we all decided to ride together. One of the girls in the other group was crying she was so afraid to ride it. We kept assuring her it was going to be fun she had nothing to worry about. We finally get on the ride and the gondola swings and we all lost our minds. We were all screaming and crying telling that poor girl how right she was and that we should have listened to her and not ridden the swinging gondola. It was so much scarier than I expected it to be I've never ridden a swinging gondola again.

I'm a little confused with the numbering?
