The Death of Nighttime Entertainment

Currently Knotts is running their Summer Nights concerts and food party. They have multiple bands playing all of the park, streetmosphere characters and food tasting cards. Employees brought out large versions of outdoor games like golf, bean bag toss, checkers, connect four. All the games are free and the kids love it as their parents drink beer and watch the shows. They've created a fun party atmosphere and the crowds seem to be enjoying it.

I look at Disneyland and I see nothing outside of fireworks/fantasmic going on in the evening hours this summer. Why isn't there a rock band playing Tomorrowland Terrace? Why isn't the Main Street piano player playing at night? The jazz band's last show is 7:45. Galaxy's Edge is completely dead of any kind of streetmosphere outside of a couple of stromtroopers that don't exactly play games. No droids or aliens. Just surly bar cast members. Even the rubber heads are gone at night. No wonder everyone leaves after the fireworks.

Nighttime entertainment is more suited to the AP audience. Locals who need something extra to be entertained. Wait until the fall. The summer is for the Star Wars.

Characters were out on Main Street at like 11:45 pm last night.

I do agree there’s less at night (and in the day) than previous years but it’s still better than Florida! Ha.

On Saturday nights they have the Big Band play by the castle way into the night to.

I am not a local, but when I am in town I find the live entertainment at Disneyland to play a major role in my enjoyment of the Park.
It greatly enhances the experience, ten fold.

Part of the massive appeal for me of the West Coast Parks is those entertainment offerings.
Disneyland seems to have a lot of it at any given time, and of good quality.
They also offer unique entertainment options you just can't experience anywhere else, or of such high caliber.

Pulling out some of the entertainment is never a good move in my opinion.
Just look at what happened to that Star Wars area that just opened..a 'Galaxy's Edge' with no 'edge'.
