I'm a couple months late, but happy 30th anniversary to this corny cheese-fest of a movie.

While it wasn't the worst of this particular Batman saga (that would come a couple years later), it definitely started the downfall.

Question is, was it so bad it's good, or just plain bad? I can't decide, but am leaning towards the latter. 🤔

Am I just being a humbug, and this movie has some nostalgic goodness to it I'm overlooking? Did any of you enjoy the movie?

Tommy Lee Jones trying to out-maniacally-laugh Jim Carrey was just so cringe. It was awful.

I love this era batman cause is just literally a comic book come to life.
One thing I give credit to the Burton/Shumacher quartet of Batfilms for, that (imo) they did better than any other reboot, including my favorite (Nolan). They made Gotham City feel like a character itself. Brought the comics to life with the look and feel of the city; the random statues, street look, architecture, etc.

Yeah, he kept alternating his behavior and mannerisms from Riddler to Joker at times... never really feeling like I was watching Two-Face other than the makeup and occasional coin flip. Not sure if that was the fault of Tommy Lee Jones or the instruction he was given by Shumacher.

I never liked how they just tossed the Billy Dee Williams version of Harvey Dent from this series and changed it to such a cartooney goofball. Made this film series seem inconsistent. Even if Williams was unavailable to come back as Dent, at least cast someone similar and try to keep this series flowing intact. Same with dropping Catwoman after the previous film. She was established enough and important enough to Bruce's story that it was a bit of a distraction in the saga to just *poof* she's gone.

The movie is ok, altho i dislike the movie from the background BS, they used Robin Williams who was up to player Riddler as leverage to get Jim Carrey who was always their first pick
