Wednesday was a highly anticipated day because it was the first day we went to DCA and we were all very much looking forward to trying out GOTG: MB. We headed that way but standby wait times were already about an hour and a half thanks to the park opening early for Disney hotel guests, so we hopped in the Fastpass line. The Fastpass line turned out to be about 25 minutes long itself, but we finally obtained our passes for a couple hours later.
We then went to test which Superhero we are at the Summer of Heros set up because there was no one in line for it. I got Captain America just like I always do on these types of quizzes because I'm a goody goody two shoes. My son got his favorite Superhero Black Panther, and he was really excited about that. My daughter got Avengers which she said was stupid because that's a group of people, not one superhero. Then we went over to hop on The Little Mermaid and then headed over to Screamin. It was down, but they were about to reopen and were letting people line up, so we jumped in line and only had about a ten minute wait. Kids absolutely loved Screamin. At one point during the ride I looked over at my son who had a mortified look on his face. I asked him if he was alright, he shook his head no, and held on to my hand tight. Then when he got off he said it was the best thing ever, lol.
Soon it was time to head back to GOTG and use our Fastpasses!
I can't tell you how surreal it was seeing this in person. I thought it looked even better in person. The Fastpass line started right at about the Trolley doors off to the right.
Trolley pulled up while we were waiting.
We also caught a glimpse of the awkward fail at trying to go viral with this:
It was kinda nice being able to explore the queue a bit:
If you want to explore the inside of the queue, don't use Fastpass, because they wisk you away quickly and make you move away from the indoor queue. That was a bummer because we were looking forward to seeing that, but we'll get to explore more tomorrow.
We all loved the ride. It was super fun and really high energy. I don't even remember what song played this time around. hahaha It was the one with the scene where Drax punches the monster and then says, "You're welcome" if anyone knows what that is.
Kids loved it too, and loved the giftshop at the end. My son had been saving up his money for the Howard the Duck plush, and he proudly purchased him. He made a comment on the trip about how he loves when a ride makes you walk through a gift shop at the end, that way he doesn't have to try and convince me to go into the store, I have no choice! lol
About this time we were ready for a break, so walked back to the hotel but not before we caught my son's favorite character Oswald on the way out and got a picture! Glad that worked out because that is always a priority of his.
We had reservations for Blue Bayou at 3:40 and we were all anxiously awaiting that. We had never eaten there before. Later, we walked back to Disneyland with husband in tow and requested a waterside table. Ended up waiting about 20 minutes, probably due to the request, and were then shown to our table. It was really weird being on this side of the bayou after looking over from the water so many times! We had a super nice time and all really enjoyed our food. Even my son!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He got steak and ate it all. This is monumental. He never likes anything. We even threw money at them for souvenir glow cubes. Money was practically flying out of my wallet, but we'll be coming back here again every trip. That's for sure.
Here is one of the best pictures we managed to capture of the Blue Bayou scenery:
Seriously, our photographic skills are second to none.
After dinner, we did some more husband light rides and called it a night.
