The Circle of Life at The Land

I had my WDW Holiday planning guide pop through the door today and when I was reading it I noticed that there was a mention of everything in the parks including Soarin' but no mention of The Circle of Life film which I do like and wish I could find somewhere online. Is this a bad sign? Surely Disney must know its own attractions and wouldnt just miss one off? If anyone has any details I would like to know that it is just their mistake and this great film with a real message is not gone for good.

From what I remember about my last few trips to The Land, The Circle of Life presentation has been closed for a while. I'm not sure how long, but I would guess at least two years...can anyone confirm this?

It was open in September of last year. I'm just now starting to forgive Disney for inflicting it on me. ;)

Maybe the last few times we were there it was just shut down temporarily. Not sure if it will return when the refurb is done.

Promo material is often done by marketing agencies, or people who know very little about the parks. It is quite easy for them to make mistakes, and they have done many times in the past.

All info so far indicates that Circle of Life is remaining untouched. :)

Steve, you have no idea how right you are about most promotional and PR people. Theyre absolutely clueless most of the time.

Reminds me of this one PR guy who seemed like a good used car salesman...

I can confirm that that is wrong. I saw it on August 25, 2004.

It was open in November when I last saw it. I think it is well made and brings a tear to my eye. If they have closed it on the sly and hope it is not noticed when The Land reopens I wonder what would go in their? The place looks old and could do with a rehab.

i feel like with Soarin' opening up, this attraction will get more traffic, but in my opinion, with a new attraction opening right beside it, Living with the Land needs some minor work, mainly animatronic and set work, and Circle of Life needs to be updated to something to please guests more... same concept, maybe in 3D? the story has a GREAT message, and the two times i've seen it, the theater wasn't even half full.

I agree, its a good concept, but not very entertaining. I don't think people go to a theme park to see an enviromental movie on a regular screen. I think they could do something educational, but with a little more WOW in it.

Emotionally, it's WOWing...

3-D is a possibility...but what will really impact the film is the story (and for what it's about, it's good).

while the story is "wow"ing, and they chose great characters for the story, there still needs to be more.

i feel the same way about animal kingdom...
when E:E opens, i feel like AK will really need two or three more attractions, more quick service, and ESPECIALLY one or two full service restaurants, or E:E could be a negative thing. someobody that has never been a fan of AK, or someone's fist visit, will now say, "The only good thing here is E:E", because this attraction will shadow all others. The crowds will be thicker, and they will need places and a few more attractions to thin out the crowds, as well as more character meet and greets!

In the Land pavilion, Soarin' will shadow Cirlce of Life and Living With the Land SO MUCH, that the regular guest will walk in, do soain' and walk right back out... unless they have a fastpass, and want to stay in the building, but i feel like upgrades need to be made to ensure that the guests in "The Land" pavilion enjoy everything it has to offer, and doesn't consider anything to be 'boring.'

Although, if I remember correctly, it is a huge theater (with a huge screen). Definately has 3D possibilities. Other than that (or just keeping it what it is), the only other thing they could do is demolish it an put something else into it's place.

Well i like the Circle of Life - surprising in a way as im not exactly what you would call a die hard environmentalist. I dunno i just like the film and think it sounds great in that theatre with the huge speakers there and the screen size makes it even better as well.

I also kinda like the pre-show video - even though the stats are god knows how many years old now. I also like the music that is played with it.

Ive looked around for the video and music but have never found it. Does anyone know where i cud pick up the video of the show, the pre-show video, or - and id love to get this - the music from the pre-show video.

wow, i havent seen the show in years, probably since it first open, and none other time. i guess when i saw it i was to young and i didnt like it that much so i never returned. but now i kinda want to check it out again, especially since the land is just opening when i'm gonna be there in march/apirl.

...and i will never forgive my family for going on food rocks without me the year before it closed... :(
