Trip Report "The Best Disney Trip EVER"

Hello, hello everyone!! A warm welcome to everyone reading--I'm so glad you're here!!

WHEN: Tuesday, November 5th - Tuesday, November 12th

WHERE: I think you know us well enough by now!!

WHO: I'm sure you know most of us(don't worry--I'm not going to confuse you all like I did in June;)). In case you don't though, there's me, my nephew J, & my sister E. Besides us usual 3 Musketeers, E's husband/J's dad/my BIL joined us for the fun!! To keep confusion to a minimum for this TR I will refer to him as JSR.
562449274.jpeg

You could also call us "The Red Family". When E asked J what color MB he wanted he said that he wanted red & that we should all get that color so we could be "The Red Family". I know you can't see E's but trust me, her's was red also.

Looking forward to reliving "The Best Disney Trip EVER" with you all!!

Tuesday, November 5th

The plan was to leave E & JSR's at 7:00. I went to work for 5:30 to get a few last minute things done--also so that I could say to my boss that I was only off for 7 days, not 8. He teases me that "vacations are 7 days not 8". After doing some work & him teasing me a bit I was off on my merry way!! I got to their house only to find out that JSR was still packing!!:jawdrop: E was not thrilled in the least. He must have been close to being done though b/c we were only delayed a few minutes.

Then came the next delay. It was Election Day and E & JSR wanted to due their civic duty. I sat in the car with J & we talked Disney while we waited.
IMG_3046.JPEG

And, in typical Pittsburgh fashion, it was raining.
IMG_3048.JPEG

Rush hour traffic + heavy rain = a slow commute to the airport. I don't know what it is with this town but it seems like no one can drive in the rain around here. Trust me, we get more than our fair share of it so you think people would be used to it.
IMG_3050.JPEG

As we were waiting to check our luggage in the woman behind us noticed our luggage tags & said that she was going to Disney also and was staying at Caribbean Beach. She asked if this was our first time going which prompted JSR to throw in a few digs about us & the frequency of our trips. I think he's just jealous ;)
IMG_3051.JPEG

The Southwest agent was slower than molasses but after 10 minutes or so it was our turn.
IMG_3052.JPEG

JSR made fun of me all week b/c of this. I had two suitcases. The small one weighed 20 lbs & this one was 36.5. He kept saying, "How did you manage to bring 56 lbs. of clothes?" As it turned out, due to his last minute packing there were quite a few things that he forgot so I told him at least I didn't have that problem. He also told me not to tell E about what he had forgot b/c he didn't want to hear her say "I told you so".
IMG_3053.JPEG

E went to park the car while the J's & I proceeded to security. But wait, I couldn't go just yet. For whatever reason the Southwest agent left one of the suitcases behind. After unsuccessfully trying to get his attention for about 5 minutes I finally interrupted him & asked him to please put it on the belt. I was getting nervous that it would somehow get forgotten. He looked at me with a surprised look on his face & said he didn't notice it there. Really??

On the "monorail" we go!!

It took quite a bit of time to get through security.
IMG_4079.JPEG

We got in at the very end of EMH.
IMG_4082.JPEG

IMG_4083.JPEG

IMG_4084.JPEG

I thought this umbrella was cute!!
IMG_4085.JPEG

R was excited. He was getting his first look at SW:GE!!
IMG_4086.JPEG

IMG_4088.JPEG

He did not want to ride Smugglers Run b/c he gets motion sickness.
IMG_4089.JPEG

It took me a few extra minutes to find our destination(I was getting lost)--Oga's Cantina!! R wanted to go there more than anything so I used touring plans to secure a reservation. As my luck would have it the first 4 times they sent me a text I either didn't hear my phone or I was in a position where I couldn't book it--one time I was actually with JSR!! I kind of squealed when it came through & he asked me what was going on & I made something up about work. I couldn't tell him the truth--it would have ruined the surprise. I wasn't concerned b/c I figured another one would become available at some point & sure enough about 3 weeks before the trip I got a reservation for 9:15. E said that she didn't want to go so R & I were on our own.
IMG_4090.JPEG

It's kind of weird--you have a reservation but still have to wait in line.
IMG_4091.JPEG

Doesn't this CM look thrilled!! :hilarious:

We only stood in line for a few minutes before we were called in.
IMG_4092.JPEG

It was......hmmm, interesting.
IMG_4093.JPEG

We were at a table where we had to stand. The people that were on the other side of it weren't friendly in the least. After they left another group took their place--they might have been worse!!
IMG_4094.JPEG

R ordered the cinnamon roll.
IMG_4095.JPEG

I got the Spiran Caf.
IMG_4096.JPEG

It was nice....I guess.
IMG_4097.JPEG

I liked watching him.

A coaster.

For the life of me I can't remember what R got to drink. It looked there were peas floating around in it.
IMG_4102.JPEG

This was my drink. It was good....until the end.
IMG_4103.JPEG

I don't know what these things were that were in it but when I got to the end of the drink(& I didn't know they were in there) I started to swallow one. It caught me by surprise & I started to spit it out & ended up getting some of my drink on my shirt. Hot mess!!
They kind of reminded me of candied fruit:hungover:
IMG_4106.JPEG

Super blurry photo of R's cinnamon roll. He didn't like it. I tried a bit & agreed. I think it was the glaze on it that turned us off.
IMG_4104.JPEG

A door.
IMG_4107.JPEG

As we were paying the bill that cantina song finally came on. R was happy to hear it!!

The crowds were starting to pick up.
IMG_4108.JPEG

We walked around a bit more.
IMG_4109.JPEG

Do you think that is a Star Warian bench?
IMG_4110.JPEG

We stopped for some PP pictures on our way out.
IMG_4725.JPG

IMG_4728.JPG

BTW-they aren't the same pants I was wearing the day before. I have many pairs of them!!

We exited through TSL.
IMG_4111.JPEG

IMG_4112.JPEG

Seriously???
IMG_4113.JPEG

The Joffrey's coffee line was no better!!
IMG_4114.JPEG

R wanted to watch the Star Wars show. E & the J's had arrived & they were headed over to meet us.
IMG_4115.JPEG

There they are!!
IMG_4116.JPEG

We had some entertainment while waiting for the show to start. A family was walking by with their popcorn bucket. The little girl dropped it & as you can see the popcorn went everywhere. Dad got mad & started hollering at her. She attempted to clean it up & he told her to leave it--bucket & all!! One of the women that was standing near it scooped up the bucket & put it in her stroller like it was hers all along!! Not quite like how the magicians(@Darstarr, @Nunu & @Loco_driver) do it but..... $2 refills & she didn't have the initial investment!!
IMG_4117.JPEG

That show was more entertaining than this one IMO!!

I get the impression from people’s TRs that Disney tried too hard to make the food and beverages from a “different” planet and all they achieved was falling flat for earthly tastebuds !
I'm not super picky either but that stuff was not good in the least. That stuff in the bottom of my drink totally grossed me out. The other thing was it wasn't cheap. Our bill was $30 some before tip--& no TIW discount there!!

Time for BatB!!
IMG_4121.JPEG

I think that costume/dress is absolutely hideous & ridiculous looking. I think that every time I watch that show. I don't know why it bothers me so much.
IMG_4125.JPEG

IMG_4126.JPEG

Time for lunch!! Mobile order was my friend that day!! I got the salad & R got the pizza.
IMG_4127.PNG

IMG_4128.JPEG

This CM came out & had said something pretty funny but I can't remember what it was. The bad thing was there wasn't that many people up there so he didn't get the laughter & applause that he so deserved.
IMG_4131.JPEG

Somebody in our party(wonder who??) took pity on J since he was the only one hula hooping & joined him for a bit. Fortunately, no one thought to take photographic evidence!! 🤣
IMG_4132.JPEG

IMG_4133.JPEG

Finally, a little girl came up so I sat down!!

E decided that a trip to Baseline was in order. The guys didn't want anything so they stayed outside while E & I went in.
IMG_4135.JPEG

I was torn between wine or a beer.
IMG_4136.JPEG

We both ended up getting the Golden Road 329 Lager. I remember having it there before & enjoying it.
IMG_4137.JPEG

IMG_4138.JPEG

Time for SDD--everyone except E & J. J absolutely refuses to ride b/c of the hills. The same reason he now won't ride FEA or PotC. He says he doesn't like the feeling in his stomach when he goes down a hill! Understandable!!
IMG_4139.JPEG

IMG_4140.JPEG

R loves this ride & this was JSR's first time on it!!
IMG_4141.JPEG

Why do I look like I'm going to be sick?

We took a spin on TSM next.
IMG_4146.JPEG

I never win at this & today was no exception!
IMG_4147.JPEG

IMG_4149.JPEG

R was excited that you could now meet Darth Vader. For years J has been saying he wants to meet him & we tell him you can only see him in the shows. Now was his chance!! And he passed:jawdrop: He said he didn't want to meet him!!
IMG_4150.JPEG

IMG_4731.JPG

It was a pretty quick meet & greet. I still think Kylo Ren is more intimidating.
IMG_4733.JPG

We met up on Hollywood Blvd. to get some pictures before we went our separate ways.
IMG_4734.JPG

IMG_4736.JPG

IMG_4737.JPG

IMG_4738.JPG

It was a little before 2 & R wasn't getting picked up until 4 but he was nervous about it being too close to "driver switch time" & felt better getting back sooner than later. E & the J's headed to our "new home". R & I headed to our "real home" one last time.

As we were leaving I told R that I was disappointed for him that he wouldn't have the chance to see HS at night all lit up.
IMG_4153.JPEG

Empty popcorn bucket--2 days in a row!! You know that didn't sit well with someone!!:hilarious:
IMG_4154.JPEG

We had a short wait for the bus.
IMG_4156.JPEG

IMG_4158.JPEG

We got off at FQ to take advantage of the "free beignets with a purchase of a specialty drink from Scat Cats" for AP holders.
IMG_4160.JPEG

Only Scat Cats didn't open until 4:banghead:
IMG_4161.JPEG

We still ordered them.
IMG_4162.JPEG

I don't care for this new setup they have going on.
IMG_4163.JPEG

It took us FOREVER to get the beignets. I swear it was quicker when you could get them from the food court.

I'm sure someone came along who scooped up your items from the laundry room!

I found Olga's was a once and done too. Have to do it at least once though!
I really hope someone did!!

I agree. I'm glad we tried it(more for R than myself) but I don't see any repeats in my future!!

R's TE time was approaching so we headed back to the main building.
IMG_4176.JPEG

Bye River Roost!!
IMG_4177.JPEG

We looked around Fulton's one last time.
IMG_4178.JPEG

IMG_4179.JPEG

IMG_4181.JPEG

We headed outside to wait for the TE. I felt bad for him.
IMG_4182.JPEG

IMG_4183.JPEG

See ya in a few days R!!
IMG_4185.JPEG

I'm not sure if you can tell but he's waving to me.
IMG_4186.JPEG

Once he left I requested a Minnie Van to take me to my "home" for the rest of the trip.

Is this a limited time thing or an all the time thing? 🤔 I’m not thrilled with the current beignets but I feel DH needs to try them. I would gladly get a drink (if able) if I have to you know for “free” beignets. 😂

I’ve just arrived - on page 15!
Gosh a lot happens on this site when you don’t check in for a while.......

I hope you are recovering from your injury

I missed Riverside this year, love the photos, it’s still as beautiful as ever.
I was sad I couldn’t get there (as we could have met) but it seems to be getting busier in November now so we might try to find another time to go (or maybe not?) - I know there isn’t a quiet time but those crowds in Epcot would have freaked me out.

You certainly did great in your aunt duties.

So many other things I was going to comment on but I’ve been sat here ages reading so I have to go and get some jobs done.
End of February and first week of March, hint, hint:) I think it is the sweet spot after the BTG's in Feb. and before the Spring Break rush. Love this time of year with Flower and Garden at Epcot, and the weather is great. Roger still prefers early November, and I like it too, but love this Feb/March time:)

I just adore J, and I am amazed that he had not lost FAygo! We also love Riverside and thank you for all the pictures!
Because of health reasons, we had to change to POFQ. But we still manage to visit POR a few times. We eat at the Mill, and I always find something to buy at Fultons'. I think Fulton's is the best resort gift shop in WDW! BTW, we say "pop" too. When we were in Tennnessee, we started calling anything cold, "a cold drink", which meant a coke, sprite, etc. Enjoying your report immensely:) It helps me with my Disney fix until we arrive end of February!

You are not suppose to cry over spilled milk or shout about spilled popcorn at Disney!!!
As for the lady who picked up the bucket....I have mixed feelings.
Better to recycle I guess???

Also, here is a hint on how to carry the popcorn bucket without a stroller and hands free.
