Trip Report "The Best Disney Trip EVER"

Hello, hello everyone!! A warm welcome to everyone reading--I'm so glad you're here!!

WHEN: Tuesday, November 5th - Tuesday, November 12th

WHERE: I think you know us well enough by now!!

WHO: I'm sure you know most of us(don't worry--I'm not going to confuse you all like I did in June;)). In case you don't though, there's me, my nephew J, & my sister E. Besides us usual 3 Musketeers, E's husband/J's dad/my BIL joined us for the fun!! To keep confusion to a minimum for this TR I will refer to him as JSR.
562449274.jpeg

You could also call us "The Red Family". When E asked J what color MB he wanted he said that he wanted red & that we should all get that color so we could be "The Red Family". I know you can't see E's but trust me, her's was red also.

Looking forward to reliving "The Best Disney Trip EVER" with you all!!

Tuesday, November 5th

The plan was to leave E & JSR's at 7:00. I went to work for 5:30 to get a few last minute things done--also so that I could say to my boss that I was only off for 7 days, not 8. He teases me that "vacations are 7 days not 8". After doing some work & him teasing me a bit I was off on my merry way!! I got to their house only to find out that JSR was still packing!!:jawdrop: E was not thrilled in the least. He must have been close to being done though b/c we were only delayed a few minutes.

Then came the next delay. It was Election Day and E & JSR wanted to due their civic duty. I sat in the car with J & we talked Disney while we waited.
IMG_3046.JPEG

And, in typical Pittsburgh fashion, it was raining.
IMG_3048.JPEG

Rush hour traffic + heavy rain = a slow commute to the airport. I don't know what it is with this town but it seems like no one can drive in the rain around here. Trust me, we get more than our fair share of it so you think people would be used to it.
IMG_3050.JPEG

As we were waiting to check our luggage in the woman behind us noticed our luggage tags & said that she was going to Disney also and was staying at Caribbean Beach. She asked if this was our first time going which prompted JSR to throw in a few digs about us & the frequency of our trips. I think he's just jealous ;)
IMG_3051.JPEG

The Southwest agent was slower than molasses but after 10 minutes or so it was our turn.
IMG_3052.JPEG

JSR made fun of me all week b/c of this. I had two suitcases. The small one weighed 20 lbs & this one was 36.5. He kept saying, "How did you manage to bring 56 lbs. of clothes?" As it turned out, due to his last minute packing there were quite a few things that he forgot so I told him at least I didn't have that problem. He also told me not to tell E about what he had forgot b/c he didn't want to hear her say "I told you so".
IMG_3053.JPEG

E went to park the car while the J's & I proceeded to security. But wait, I couldn't go just yet. For whatever reason the Southwest agent left one of the suitcases behind. After unsuccessfully trying to get his attention for about 5 minutes I finally interrupted him & asked him to please put it on the belt. I was getting nervous that it would somehow get forgotten. He looked at me with a surprised look on his face & said he didn't notice it there. Really??

On the "monorail" we go!!

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH

We had one more FP to use so JSR decided to get some popcorn for the show.
IMG_3738.JPEG

Look who's having to hold it--E:p
IMG_3739.JPEG

I really adore the decorations at HS!!
IMG_3740.JPEG

E thought J might have seen this show once when he was younger. He said that he had never seen it.
IMG_3741.JPEG

That popcorn bucket was getting empty quick. And look who was the one eating it!!:hilarious: JSR was busy making fun of her b/c all she had been doing was complaining about it & she was the one eating it the most!! That of course caused laughter which meant I went back to being in pain!!
IMG_3742.JPEG

While waiting for the show to start I tried to make us another FP. Yeah, that wasn't happening. I guess all the parks were packed that day!!

IMG_3743.JPEG

On with the show!!
IMG_3744.JPEG

IMG_3745.JPEG

IMG_3746.JPEG

IMG_3747.JPEG

J absolutely loved the show!! I guess all that action & special effects are exciting for little boys!! I asked him recently what FP's he wanted me to get for our upcoming trip & after mentioning a few favorites he told me to make sure I get one for Indiana Jones!!

So, at this point E & JSR were leaving to explore DVC a bit more. I believe their appointment was at the Polynesian. I offered to stay at HS with J so he didn't have to spend another afternoon listening to something that meant nothing to him. The plan was for them to meet us at HS when they were done.
IMG_3748.JPEG

He wanted to see the Lightening McQueen show so we headed there.
IMG_3749.JPEG

There was about a 15 minute wait until the next show. I asked him if he would like to go see Cruz Ramirez while we waited but he didn't want to.
IMG_3750.JPEG

IMG_3751.JPEG

IMG_3752.JPEG

Not the best show but the little ones really seem to enjoy it!!
IMG_3753.JPEG

Afterwards we just had to check out the Cars.
IMG_3754.JPEG

And purchase one!!

What to do next??

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH

You've probably noticed that we are not big on stopping for PP photos. We're usually good for one group photo during a trip & sometimes that doesn't happen!! J & I ended up taking quite a few photos that day. So many that when E looked at MDE she asked if all we did were photo shoots while they were gone!!
IMG_4663.JPG

Of course, Fago had to get in the picture too!!
IMG_4665.JPG

Being the good aunt that I am I let him get some jelly beans!!
IMG_3758.JPEG

IMG_3759.JPEG

I asked him if he would like to go on TSM. The response I got was, "No, we were on that already." He decided that he wanted to see Indiana Jones again. I tried telling him that "we saw that already." But, apparently his logic was different when it came to doing what he wanted :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:
IMG_3760.JPEG

We had a few minutes before the next show so I got myself a treat.

IMG_3761.PNG

And it worked!!

Thank goodness for the beer b/c that cupcake was gross!!
IMG_3763.JPEG

I know it looks cute but....
IMG_3764.JPEG

The "icing" was one big foamy blob of I don't know what.
IMG_3765.JPEG

I offered some to J but he passed(I don't blame him).
IMG_3766.JPEG

That "icing" was just plain nasty. It was so weird too. You probably could have used it as a ping pong ball!!
IMG_3768.JPEG

Show #2 for the day!!
IMG_3769.JPEG

J stood the whole time & watched it. He really enjoyed it again!!
IMG_3770.JPEG

IMG_3771.JPEG

For J I'm really glad we watched it again!!
IMG_3772.JPEG

This CM was doing a little dance with these kids. It was really cute!!

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH

Wait times were ridiculous & there's not as much for a 4 year old to do there so I asked J if he wanted to meet Olaf.
IMG_3774.JPEG

I told J that while we were waiting I was going to call my dad. He asked me why I was calling him. I told him b/c he is my dad & I wanted to talk to him. He got a funny look on his face & said, "You know that he's my moms dad too" :hilarious: :hilarious::hilarious: I guess he thought he was telling me something I didn't already know!!
IMG_3775.JPEG

We waited pretty much the whole 30 minutes.
IMG_4667.JPG

IMG_4670.JPG

IMG_4671.JPG

It wasn't the best meet & greet but it wasn't the worst either. It was much better than when we met him back in June.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH

I asked J what he would like to do next. He asked if we could refill the popcorn bucket. So, over to the stand we went. To me, his next comment was very bizarre b/c he knows his way around the parks quite well. If you recall back in June he & my niece A had to show R the way to Star Wars Launch Bay from Baseline b/c he didn't know where he was going!! Anyhow, he told me that I was very smart b/c I knew where the popcorn stand was. I told him that wasn't quite it. I just know from going there. His response, "No, I really thinks it's b/c you're smart."🤣 Well, I"m glad someone thinks I am!!

It was getting a bit chilly so J wanted his jacket on. We stopped to take a few pictures. I purposely held the popcorn bucket for the picture since it was such an integral part of our trip!!
IMG_4675.JPG

IMG_4676.JPG

IMG_4677.JPG

IMG_4678.JPG

We browsed around the shops for a bit. It was getting close to our dinner reservation time. J was starting to wonder where his parents were. I told him they must still be there b/c otherwise they would have called or texted me. He asked what would happen if they didn't make it back for dinner. The good aunt that I am very nicely told him that they would be SOL then!!🤣 We would go without them & they would have to fend for themselves!!
IMG_3782.JPEG

IMG_3783.JPEG

There really wasn't much time to do anything before dinner & when we came out of the stores I saw that Chip 'N Dale were out. We got in line and as my luck would have it they went to go collect nuts right before it was our turn. I noticed that big dog & asked him who in our family has a big dog like that(one of my sisters has an Irish Wolfhound). The CM heard us talking & she asked him if he would like to go with her to find the hidden Mickey on the dog. It was nice b/c it helped to pass the time.
IMG_3785.JPEG

IMG_3786.JPEG

He found it!!
IMG_3788.JPEG

I believe he got a sticker for locating it!!

Handsome does the I got my eye on you motion too. Actually during his Tots soccer game this fall he did it to an opponent! We have our hands full with him. I really hope him and J get a magic meet someday. They are too peas in a pod. Loving all the nephew/aunt bonding time.

Would I have the nerve to get on them when the time came? I like to try something at least once but my fear of heights is so strong I figured I would end up chickening out. Plus, it didn't help that it had to be evacuated the month before. Let me tell you, had I been on there when that happened I honestly don't know if I would have lived to tell about it.
[/QUOTE}
I'm not fond of heights, either (I'm terrified, really) but inside doesn't bother me so much. I think the worst part of the gondolas for me would be the getting stuck for three hours and not being able to go to the bathroom! :jawdrop::banghead:

When we got to TSM we found that they had the standby line closed & were only accepting FP's. They were also announcing that the FP wait was 45 minutes!! No thank you!! We could also come back later to use it so that was our plan.
Do they close standby lines when there's a big fastpass back up?

Again, the line for Smuggler's Run was insane.
This is the only part of my trip I'm dreading next year.... (the wait times)

J & I resumed our "who could spot more crayons" contest from the last trip!
I'm going to have to remember this when I go back with my own kid!

We had one more FP to use so JSR decided to get some popcorn for the show.
At least E enjoyed the popcorn, even if she did have to carry it!

Thank goodness for the beer b/c that cupcake was gross!!

I feel like WDW is very hit or miss with cupcakes. Sometimes the frosting is perfect but sometimes it's just a complete overload of sugar and doesn't taste like frosting.

He got a funny look on his face & said, "You know that he's my moms dad too" :hilarious: :hilarious::hilarious: I guess he thought he was telling me something I didn't already know!!

It's so exciting when kids are growing and they make a big connection like that. :jawdrop::joyfull:

That is hysterical!! I cracked up when I read that!!
That would be so neat!!🤞
J & I did have a lot of fun together that day(well, at least I did!! He never really said!!🤣)
Enjoying your TR! As always, J is providing some great entertainment, and I’m so glad that he likes Indy! And I find the situation with the popcorn bucket to be very comical. Can’t wait to read more!
Thank you!! He is an entertainer--that's for sure!!
I know he's looking forward to seeing it again!
The popcorn bucket did make for a lot of laughs. My BIL is really funny so he knows just what to say to get things going(probably part of the reason E was so irritated with the whole thing!!)

@slipperalwaysfits
-I'm terrified unless I'm inside(that's why I can ride Space Mountain or Rock N Roller Coaster with no issues)
-Yes. I believe there was only one track running at that point.
-Yeah--I don't like to wait long for something I want to ride much less something that I don't!!
-It was funny b/c as soon as he saw the crayons he picked up right where we left off!! That kid doesn't forget anything!!
-JSR kept teasing her that she enjoyed it more than she would let it show!!
-I usually love the icing there. This was downright gross. It almost reminded me of meringue but a very spongy version of it. I'm telling you I think you could have bounced it off the ground!!
-It is funny!! Another thing he always says when he's talking about my other nieces/nephews(his cousins) is "(Name) & I did (whatever) the other day. You know, he/she's my cousin"!!

All caught up while waiting on my (delayed)flight home. The popcorn bucket thing sounds like something that would happen with our family too! Nice touch to add fuel to the fire by including it in your picture! 🤣
Hope it wasn't delayed too long!! My BIL & I were just laughing about the popcorn bucket again the other day!! We're doing a short trip next month. I may just have to buy one... 🤣
That is awesome!!!!
The heck with them. Our reservation was at 50's. I wouldn't pass that up just b/c they couldn't make it!!

I agree, love Prime Time!
It's one of our favorites!!:hungry:
You must find some great flight deals.... :jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop:
Unfortunately, not this time around. The flights were actually pretty pricey(Martin Luther King weekend). I do use points quite a bit for flights though & I have a lot of them. Here's how I do it: Southwest rapid rewards. They have a ton of retailers. When I buy things I go through the Southwest site. A lot of times you can get 4 points for every dollar spent. Then there are bonus points when you spend so much in a certain time frame. I rack up quite a few points for buying things that I need for everyday use & I don't have to go to the mall!! It's a win all the way around!!:)

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH

Soon enough Chip 'N Dale must have got their fill of nuts b/c they were back to visit with us!! It had started raining while we were in line so we got a little wet. Unfortunately, it rained all evening & didn't stop until the next morning.

IMG_4684.JPG

IMG_4686.JPG

Now for the embarrassing part. Chip 'N Dale started playing a game with us. Notice J's smile & my look of bewilderment?? I couldn't follow what was going on or what we were playing.
IMG_4689.JPG

I was so lost....
IMG_4690.JPG

I made a comment about having no clue what was going on. J turned to me & said, "Don't you know? We're playing rock, paper, scissors"
That caused Chip 'N Dale to start pointing at me & laughing:banghead:
