The Addams Family replacing the little mermaid show on Broadway

I was reading through threads and one of the posters said that an Addams Family show is replacing Voyage of The Little Mermaid. I think this is an excellent idea since the attraction is becoming dated and is not on par with other shows at WDW.

Addams Family? :veryconfu

You say that The Little Mermaid is dated and you want to go with something dated by a few extra decades?

Was this a thread from 2002?

Link?

I posted a thread on this back in 2003. Im just saying that Voyage of the Little Mermaid isnt up to the cailber of the other shows at WDW. An Addams Family show would still be a nice edition even though it dates back to the 60s.

I wouldn't believe this even if Bob Iger and all the other head honchos walked right up to me and told me it was happening. :lookaroun

Sorry, I'm just confused. Your first post says you read where a poster said an Addams Family show IS replacing VotLM. In your second post you say you started the thread and you just like the idea of the Addams Family show?

At minimum, Disney doesn't own the rights to the Addams Family and anything that would go into that prime piece of DHS realty (should they ever choose to change VotLM) would be current/movie related.

Im just saying this because there was news that the broadway show was going down. So would this mean that WDW has another show in the works?

You're really not making any sense here. What broadway show? What does this have to do with the show at DHS? And how did the Addams Family come into the equasion.

Sorry guys. Adams Family IS replacing Little Mermaid but it's not how you think. The new Adams Family musical is replacing Little Mermaid on Broadway. Not in Disney World.

For those of you who care, Nathan Lane will be playing Gomez Adams. :)

Ah I have heard about this. It's doing a pre-Broadway performance out here in chicago in a few months. And The little mermaid is going on tour.

Yeah. All broadway shows do tours. usally, they do double runs. The show stays in NYC while the tour takes America. Sadly, like so many awesome shows (9 to 5 and Spamalot) they sorta get cancelled like T.V. shows do. So, it is not a good sign for Disney that Little Mermaid closed after only 2 years. Most Disney shows have lasted around 10 years. This is Disney's sencond flop in a row. The first one was Tarzan.

And you are right. Adams Family shoud be in Chicago untill 2010. I know Wicked stared in L.A. oretty typical.

And to the OP. You did made it confusing by saying it was going into WDW. But it's ok. We got it figured out.
