I think what they mean is Soundsational will no longer perform at night.

Never mind Soundsational is on for the 23rd. Wish DL would have said that in the first place! By looking at the calendar, I'm assuming the 23rd and beyond.
DL hasn't had the best online skills I've noticed in the past few months.

I don't see why it would matter if Soundsational was performed that day or not. It's been around for nearly four years now, one day without it wouldn't kill anyone.

True but it sounded like Soundsational is cut when PTN opens. We think that's not true.

I was watching a video of Light Magic and was thinking it would be cool if they used the same colored spot lights along the parade route for PTN or Disneyland Forever:
It's at 4:20 minutes into this video:

PTN in HKDL uses the parade route lights to do a similar sequence before the show arrives in that zone to coincide with the opening audio. I'd be surprised if something similar wasn't done here.

We don't think that's not true, we KNOW that's not true. Soundsational was never in any danger of being cut from the park because of Paint the Night. Soundsational is going down to one performance per day instead of two and is still running indefinitely at Disneyland. It will take a hiatus for Christmas as usual, but it's not in danger of closing any time soon. You can stop stressing about it. Soundsational isn't leaving and you can take that to the bank.

I've heard Soundsational was safe until 2017/2018

There's been rumblings of PPP coming to Studios, but with the imminent remodel coming this August, it seems unlikely.

They're both really stale at this point, though.
2017 is a long way off, and Soundsational is already embarrassingly dated next to Festival of Fantasy.
