Cory In the House is the first spinoff from the hit Disney Channel Original Series That's So Raven, with the second being Absolutely Raven on ABC. Victor Baxter gets a job as the personal chef to the President of the United States and, with Raven headed off to college and Tanya continuing law school in England, he and Cory pack up and move to the White House in Washington D.C. There, Cory has to deal with adjusting to a new life at a stuffy prep school while Victor attempts to deal with the pressures of working for the most powerful man in the world. This show will have the same wild and outrageous comedy we've all come to expect from the Baxter family. The newly elected president is Richard Martinez. This storyline is rumored to take place during the time Raven is away in college. This show will premiere in November 2006.

Edit: Other websites say that the second spin off on ABC is probably just a rumor, but Cory in the House is definitely happening.

Disney Channel is introducing a bunch of new original series to be released this year and next year. I think there's about a dozen of them. It's ridiculous. But since that is too many shows, after they showed a few episodes of the series, people will be able to vote for which shows they'd want to see stay on the air. Out of 12 series, only 4 will ultimately be chosen to keep on running.

And since they're doing this, they're limiting the amount of Disney Channel Original Movies (DCOM's) to 4 per year, a huge cut from the past few years.

The father from San Francisco, California is becoming the personal cook for the president of the United States of America??? Sounds just a little bit outrageous to me. So Raven is going to college? I guess she is getting to old to pass her off for high school age. She is like 19 or 20. This spinoff looks like is going to work out. They tried the same thing with Lizzie McGuire going to High School when renegotiating the contract for the show. But Hilary Duff and her mother wanted for too much money, so Disney dropped them. Did Tanya, the mother, get kicked off the show? She has been gone for a while at "college" in England.

 Yeah it's all kind of rediculous, but from what I read Raven's mother quit the show because her character wasn't going anywhere. So she's still going to be studying in England. Raven isn't going to be in the new spin off (except for maybe a few guest appearances), she's going to be on tour for her music, the excuse for the show will be will be that she's off at college. I read that about Hilary Duff too, she was sad when the show ended, but they demanded too much money when they wanted to make a sequal to the movie and the spin off show.

If not, it does make sense they are introducing a lot of new shows to take the place of it, i.e. Hannah Montanah, The Replacements,etc.... But I heard there was going to be a That's So Raven Movie released sometime in 2007/2008.

I happen to like quite a few Disney Channel shows...Raven, Suite Life, and Hannah Montana.

Different strokes of course.

The spin-off sounds interesting, but Cory and Victor were never my favorites, so we'll see

Don't worry, I actually like a lot of the shows too. :D Although I don't know about the new cartoons they've been getting lately, The Buzz on Maggie and The Replacements both look really dumb.

I don't know about Cory as a main character either, it seems like his character on That's So Raven gets worse and worse with every new episode now. The show isn't the same without the mom either.

I think once Cory hit puberty, he was just not funny anymore :lookaroun

It seems like no Disney Channel show lasts too long. Only a few years, then they stop making new episodes and move on to something else. That's So Raven was one of the longest running shows I can remember. It premiered just after Lizzie McGuire was on its way down. It's gone on for about 4 or 5 years. I wonder when the new episodes will stop airing and they move on to the new show.

This is due to the Disney Channel's 65 episode rule. Each show on the Disney Channel only lasts up to 65 episodes, so that way, all the shows on the station are constantly changing and different.

That's So Raven was the first show to pass the 65 episode mark, due to popular demand. When the show ends, it will have made about 100 episodes. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody may also pass the 65 episode mark, but we're not sure yet because they still have about fifteen episodes left until they reach 65, so we'll have to see.

Do they really have that rule? Why? Is it to keep things fresh, or save money by not paying the actors more? I heard something about that about Lizzie McGuire when they did a special on Hilary Duff on E!, but I have also heard that they did want to make more Lizzie episodes but Duff wanted more money. I'm not sure what is true.

Their both true in a way. The show ended at 65 episode's, but they did want to do a 2nd Lizzie McGuire movie, but Hilary's mom demanded too much money and took her next movie to a different studio (or maybe she accepted a job at another studio, something like that) so it never got done. Her next movies weren't nearly as popular as Lizzie McGuire. I also read that they changed their minds about the Lizzie McGuire movie and called Disney back to take the offer, but Disney basically said "screw you" and that it was too late. I read this all in a book called Disney War. It's a book all about disney during the Eisner era, it's a great read, and it's pretty unbiased too. I vaguely remember something about doing another series with her in high school, but I may be making that up.

Does anybody have a list of how many episodes of the shows on disney channel. it is ok if nobody does but I think that it would be interesting to see how many have been filmed of each one. By the way, why the number 65? It sounds random to me but maybe somebody knows why.

Thank you for making sure that you said that it was Hilary's mom, and not Hilary herself, that demanded too much money. People always blame Hilary for it, and I don't think it's fair on her part. I hate her mom. :lookaroun

I heard that it was more Hilary's mom than Hilary herself. Supposedly, Hilary's mom is really a stage mom. At first, they kind of both wanted more money, but I think once Disney was about to turn their back on them, Hilary wanted to lower her demmands, but her mom forced her to keep it where it was. So Disney dropped them. I think it has left a bad taste in Disney's mouth, and they will not do anything with Hillary for a while. Just like with Lindsay Lohan after that fiasco in Disneyland with her party. In pictures, Hilary's mom always looks a little...evil.:drevil:

I just found the section of the book where it talks about Hilary leaving Disney. You guys are both right, it said everything was going great except for the fact that Susan Duff was a demanding stage mom. It said they were in talks about an ABC show where Lizzie goes to highschool, and they offered her a two picture deal for Lizzie McGuire movie. Also her mom got the script to Cinderella Story, and she took it to every studio BUT Disney (while they were still in good with Disney), which made ________ Cook furious. It said her mom was in control of every aspect of her career including her costumes, hairstyles, makeup, songs, choreography, housing, transportation, diet, etc... There was a scene in the movies where her mom got in an argument and to make her stop whining Disney for a membership to a spa at Hilary's favorite place to stay. Disney was going to offer them $3.5 million plus a $500,000 bonus if the first movie reached the $50 million mark. Her mom demanded $5 million plus the bonus, a producer credit for herself, and she wanted Disney to pay her cell phone bills. Disney budged a little from their first offer and gave them a deadline to decide, and then Duff's mom called the morning after the deadline to finally say that they would accept, but ________ Cook said they missed the deadline, I think mostly on principle because he was so sick of her trying to be in control of everything. Susan Duff (Hilary's mom) told Entertainment Weelky that Disney couldn't bully them into accepting any offer that they want to give them. She said that they walked away from a sequal, Disney walked away from a franchise. Duff's first CD was put out by Disney's "Hollywood Records," but her next movies went to other studios. So then Raven came along and they had a new person to promote and start a franchise with, and they also started Kim Possible.

Thanks for the great info pluto77! I assume you mean this info was from Disney War. It seems once one star is ready to leave, they already have someone waiting to take their place, like once Raven is gone, they will concentrate fully on The Suite Life of Zach and Cody as well as Hannah Montanna, which are drawing in big ratings and becoming really popular, I believe.

Well, it looks like the Spin-off has been confirmed. I just saw a new Disney 365 were the actor who plays Corey was talking about Corey in the House. He does move to the white house, his father will be the cook for the president, and there will be his new blonde friend: a guy named "Newt" or something like that. They said it had all the original characters, but I think it was only Corey and his dad.
