After 2 days of searching the web I'm so glad I found this forum again.
My last trip, Oct of 2000 included my 8 year old daughter "at the time" and Myself. Mom couldnt make it due to a 1,1/2 year old & one on the way in November, But I promised my Daughter & I always keep them to her. I read & searched this site for days before planing the trp. And all the advise made it Fantastic!! We went to MK, Epcot , Blizard Beach, Universal - both parks all with in a week & Made almost every ride..& all the big ones twice!!
Thanks.

But now I need some help...Please
Due to my company expanding I have some time.
Belive me I wanted to go back in Oct but cant.
So Disney here we come..Mom, Dad, & 11, 3 1/2 & 2 1/2 year olds.
We first planned 3/29/03 - 4/5/03...that is before we read all about spring breaks.
So the date is 2-22-03 - 3-1-03.
My 2 concerns are....
Weather & Crowd size..
I've read so many posts going both ways I've decided to base my
final decision based on the responce to this post.
We'll it was that or flip a coin..
Thanks again.

www.weather.com gives the average temperatures for that week as 75/52. But it could be much colder, and you should prepare for that. (We were there Jan 1-6 2002, and the highs were in the low 50's, which was lower than average.)

It was not a problem for us, because we needed our winter coats to get from the parking lot of the airport to the terminal, so we had them in Florida. Also remember that at 50 degrees you might skip a coat to run from you car into a building, but there is a lot of standing in line outside at WDW, and you will need the coat.

Having to wear a coat means you have more pockets and have to carry less stuff (yes, I am a "glass half full" girl).

I'd dress the kids in layers and peel as necessary. Since I'm cold blooded, I wouldn't bother taking shorts.

The crowds from Presidents' Day should be mostly gone by the 26th, so that is good.

You may not log as much pool time in Feb as you did last time. You might want to prepare your 11 year old for that. My kids always have to try, but tend to come out when they turn blue.

The lockers at the parks are great for stashing unneeded coats during the day, but I'm guessing you'll have a stroller for the little ones, and can use that.

If the choice is Feb, Spring Break, or not at all, Feb is the clear winner.

Are asking about the weather and crowds for Feb-March?

Crowds should be fairly low. You should be getting there before all of the spring break crowds do.

Weather is another thing. I'd say highs in the 70's, but it could be warmer or much cooler than that. I'd say lows in the 50s.

I'd say definitely go during that time.

That should be a good time. Only once have I been to WDW and needed the snowsuit for the little one. First week of March and it was freezing. I'd dress in layers (longjohns for me!) and peel when needed. Jeans are comfortable for 40-70 degree weather, so I don't think you'll sweat buckshots if it warms up a bit. I'd bring one pair of shorts just in case of an unseasonably hot day. The rest of the time I'd do jeans.

this was something i wrote a wile back, it will help

Wile March and Aprils Hours have not been posted yet, Feb has been. WDW bases park hours on projected attendence, through historical figures and hotel bookings. The Week in Feb you talk about is 7pm closeings at the MK, indicating a slow week. Keep in mind when you first get there you will catch the tale end of President Week crowds. But there are E-Rides on the 21st , 25th, and 28th. So maybe WDW is expecting somewhat of a crowd.

Bottom line.... if school is in session both weeks in question, it really dosnt matter when you go as far as crowds go. So all you got left is weather. How important is weather to you? that should answer your question.

hope this helps.

February can be freezing specially at nights and next to the water: Epcot! :animwink:
Do layers with the kids as everybody has mentioned and if you decide for them to wear shorts in the morning, make sure you bring a pair of pants with you because no matter how sunny it looks in the morning, it will be chilly as soon as the sun starts to go down after the noon. I guarantee it. :animwink:

The crowds are not that bad at that time of the year, the brazilian groups have already left by the end of February, and March is still to come with the big crowds for Easter and Spring Break, so very little spring breakers will be there when you are there.

Have fun and a nice trip!

You can't eat at Coral Reef and watch Illuminations if that is what you were thinking. You can eat at the Rose and Crown Pub (outdoors) or the quick service mexican restaurant.
