To all you Disney fans,
This is sort of a confession.....I was one of those that did not understand the fascination about all things Disney, nor the repeated trips when there was another real world to experience on vacation. But I can see now that I was wrong in this.....I have so enjoyed your enthusiasm, your delight, your love of Disney....it is contagious and I think I caught it!
Beauty, well-designed environments, entertainment, family memories, child-like joy and wonder, good food, friendly welcoming service.....it is a whole world of real magic. I defintely have appreciated seeing this from your point-of-view.
This is my 5th trip and I have always "attacked" Disney...so much to see, so much to do, gotta get my money's worth. I toured it as if touring Europe and needing to see every church and museum.....oh, I can see that I missed the magic and wonder!
This is the most important lesson that I have gleaned from this forum...and I thank you. Our trip is 28 days away. I came on this site to find out how to beat the heat, avoid the crowds, see it all in less time and although I did recieve much information that is extrememly helpful, you all have given me so much more. I will remember to notice the beauty, hear the music, taste the food (especially Dole Whips!), smell the musty water, the popcorn and feel all the magic....create 5 sensory memories. I do not need to "attack" Disney, I need to absorb, enjoy, pay attention and let the experience unfold (with a little planning of course, well alot of planning actually!).
Thanks again for sharing your love for WDW. Thank you for all your knowledge and experience.
Andrea
