To all you Disney fans,

This is sort of a confession.....I was one of those that did not understand the fascination about all things Disney, nor the repeated trips when there was another real world to experience on vacation. But I can see now that I was wrong in this.....I have so enjoyed your enthusiasm, your delight, your love of Disney....it is contagious and I think I caught it!

Beauty, well-designed environments, entertainment, family memories, child-like joy and wonder, good food, friendly welcoming service.....it is a whole world of real magic. I defintely have appreciated seeing this from your point-of-view.

This is my 5th trip and I have always "attacked" Disney...so much to see, so much to do, gotta get my money's worth. I toured it as if touring Europe and needing to see every church and museum.....oh, I can see that I missed the magic and wonder!

This is the most important lesson that I have gleaned from this forum...and I thank you. Our trip is 28 days away. I came on this site to find out how to beat the heat, avoid the crowds, see it all in less time and although I did recieve much information that is extrememly helpful, you all have given me so much more. I will remember to notice the beauty, hear the music, taste the food (especially Dole Whips!), smell the musty water, the popcorn and feel all the magic....create 5 sensory memories. I do not need to "attack" Disney, I need to absorb, enjoy, pay attention and let the experience unfold (with a little planning of course, well alot of planning actually!).

Thanks again for sharing your love for WDW. Thank you for all your knowledge and experience.

Congratulations... you have now discovered the zen of WDW.

When you can grab the Dole Whip from my hand, you will be ready to leave, grasshopper.

Have a magical trip!

It took my husband a long time to "get" it too, but now we savor every moment at the world.
Have a wonderful magical trip!

I think that was beautiful how you put into words how Disney makes you feel. When I first found this site, I was amazed at how many people have the same passion I do for WDW. Have a great vacation..

That's exactly it. Disney is MUCH more fun if you take it at a snail's pace. Feel free to sit down for a while and just look at the sights. Don't worry if dinner takes an hour. Don't worry if you get passed up when the park opens and the stoller moms go flying to get all the fastpasses they can! THEY are the ones missing out on the experience.

I would say 90% of the fun at disney is only experienced by 10% of the guests.

Glad to hear you will be part of the 10%

Best quote of the year!!!!! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Agreed. It always frustrates me to see Ultra Super Uber (yes, uber) Type-A personalities scrambling to be ahead of those ten people in line or hit this, this, and this, or ask which attraction is best and go for it, or force their kids to go on certain attractions. It actually reminds me a lot of the way careers and education are viewed...ugh. That's another discussion.

But totally; why would people pay all that money to engage in a rat race (Not referring to the OP, just some guests I've seen)? That mentality sucks all the fun out and defeats the objective. Everyone finds their own unique slice of cheese. This is a vacation!

So anyway, thanks for your words, have a blast, savor the moments, and be a kid! Talk to the CMs! Hakuna Matata! And let us know how else we can help!

By the way, I love trip reports. :D
