I posted this to a previous discussion on these boards. My point at the end was to basically meld the history of transportation with a thrilling Test Track like part in the middle with an end that includes the Future of Transportation.
I think that would be a safe compromise...because honestly, the most interesting part about TT is the queue. I don't gain anything from that ride, except for a few minutes of mildly-exciting ride.

Sometimes I wonder, with all that land - why cant they make a new park that holds all the old rides, and charge like $20 lol...they can just toss them in there, i dont need anything special, ill go! ;)
As much as I would hope they'd do this, it will never happen :(

I vote Test Tack. Much more fun than World of Motion ever was. It was just another reason why a lot of kids and teens (clearly not the ones on this site of course) disliked Epcot. While people would argue "Oh I could Test Track in my own car" or whatever look at it this way. The main aim of Test Track is to appeal the people who can't drive (I.e. Kids). So Test Track accomplishes it's goal better than WOM IMO. I mean come on could you imagine this generation looking at the history of transportation and having fun at the same time. I've showed people videos of WOM who asked to end it before the 2 minute mark.

So once again Test Track gets the vote it is the better of the two at achieving it's goal. There's a reason there is always a 60 min wait while WOM's last day of operation is was a walk on.

I think I'd get bored of a video of WOM too though...a video isnt anywhere near the same as being on the ride!

True but if the ride is as great as it is billed by everyone on this site the video would create interest in the minds of the viewer. Just as Dinosaur an Test Track did when I showed the same people those videos.

To be honest, I've never been on WoM (was closed before I started going regularly) but just from the many videos/audios I've heard I can safely conclude that it is better than Test Track.

Opinion. Nothing wrong with that at all. Some say WOM is better some say TT is better. That's cool. But I don't enjoy hearing people say "how can anyone like TT it's stupid" or something like that. That's ridiculous. People are allowed to like what they want to like. Just because its not the same thing you like doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it.

Couldn't have said it any better--cheers!

The two were not even close. One had 200 AAs, a catchy theme song, and told a story for 15 minutes. The other lets you drive on the highway in a car going 50 mph. As is true of almost all of the original Future World pavilions, they can not be appreciated through youtube - they were like going to museums.

I love Test Track, but World of Motion was a classic Disney ride just like Horizons. I'll pick WoM only because Test Track, as much fun as it is, breaks down too much, always has a wait, and they force everyone to sit through the pre-show which I've seen so many times, I could narrate it backwards.

Sadly, I wasn't alive for the original FW, but I feel as though I can appreciate it as opposed to modern-day "Epcot".

Everything about WoM was unforgettable--whether it's the AAs, the song, or just the purpose and postshow. On the other hand, Test Track has a post show that seems more like an advertisement than an exhibit, the ride itself isn't that exciting, and it is for some reason a must-do every time our family goes.

I never rode World of Motion, but I've never missed Test Track. It's like Mr. Toad 2.0 to me. Fun, somewhat thrilling, and constantly trying to kill you. How many other attractions on property do that?

Hard to believe anyone likes Test Track; it's as exciting as driving in my car on the way to work everyday. :(
My thoughts exactly. I'm sure it's great for folks who don't drive. I just don't get this rides appeal. Hour waits to go 60mph and stop and turn suddenly. Boring, unimaginative.

I wish they could somehow have made a hybrid of both, start with a history of the automobile section of WOM, then instead of the speed tunnels, take a trip on the outer ring like Test Track has now, then come back inside and see the futuristic scenes of WOM...

Because Test Tracks preshow rooms are badly used, the FP line screws up the original capacity design and it isn`t a people-eating Omnimover?

Not to mention the frequent cascades and 101s...

We counted what appeared to be a 3:1 Fastpass to Standby ratio at Test Track. I really hope they think of a way to fix the backups. If it means removing Fastpass, so be it.

It might, but even without fastpass, that ride backed up to a ridiculous degree. At least I believe there was a few times I rode before FP came in, and it was always a mess.

Now a World of Motion with thrilling ominax scenes would be cool. Making all the cars move with the screen would be expensive unless they rig the track. Now updating the projections would suck. They also could of saved a couple million, kept World of Motion, renovated the que area and make test track all outside which would have been more realistic. All they would need is a parking lot, a track, scenery and stadium lights for the nighttime. I want World of motion back because it was a well loved ride and I do think Test Track needs to be updated.

As a person who once sold machines and tools to the automotive industry, TT has an ok qeue. But the thrill of it is still very fun, and this coms from an amature race car driver that s road races at speeds of 190 plus. somthing abouth the open cockpit and being with my family at the same time, plus it being in complete control. If you want a real ride, try flipping a corvette at 157 mph. Now thats a thrill that makes you s!@# YOUR PANTS. dONE IT TWICE.
