Test track to become cars?

As much as I resist adding characters to original rides, and as much as I loved the "Mexican La La" song ... I do not mind the 3 Cabs version at all. Honestly, IMHO, the original didn't do anything more than what it does now. They just added the characters to it. At least it's not a retelling of their movie! Now instead of the "La La" song getting stuck in my head, I get the 3 Cabs song stuck in my head. Honestly, it needed a refresh--and I prefer what they did over ripping it out with something completely different or making it like we're in the movie.

I prefer the catchy tune of Rio compared to now...and the vendors that went from one screen to the next.

and also prefer the misty mysterious hieroglyphs tunnel...now,,no mist, tunnel all lit exposing walls and pipes and ceiling, and a blaring cartoon. great show.

better cartoons at EPCOT
I am not opposed to toons at EPCOT if they are chosen with care and not to many of them.
Good examples are:
Topes and flowers
Custom as in Dreamfinder, Figment, Commander @ WOL
KP to help kids tour the world
Mupphet mobile lab
How about one of the old favorites like Ludwig Von Drake. Everything I know about opera (almost nothing) I learned from Bugs Bunny and everything I know about music (again little) I learned from Ludwig.
I know his voice could be a problem though.

Well autoblog like jalopnik don't like it because the eyes are wrong.
The cars franchise is only being continued to sell as much merch as they can get red paint on plastic toys in china. Its quality is much less than any of the other pixar properties, and skinning anything with it is a cop out by wdi. Along with that, keep carsland in dl because clones kill the uniqueness of the different resorts.
I wish that of any of the pixar franchise brought into Epcot, that they have the two performers from one man band added to Italy.
Which is silly because Cars isn't the only time they've done windshield as eyes, like with Suzie the Little Blue Coupe or that one Tex Avery short about the cars family. Not to mention that headlight eyes are small, the glow at night would be creepy, and a blank windshield would be a waste of space.

Right. In "The Art of Cars" it's stated that Pixar used Susie the Little Blue Coupe as a design inspiration, which makes sense given its Disney association. Since vehicles don't have eyes, there is no "right" or "wrong" way to portray them. You can put them either in the windshields like Disney's Susie or Pedro the Mail Plane (from "Saludos Amigos"), or in the headlights like Hanna-Barbera's Speed Buggy or Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch.

The windshield as eyes allows the animators to give the cars a much wider range of expressions.

Meet the Robinsons was Disney Feature Animation. Besides, a Robinsons attraction would probably be more like Horizons.

Actually there is concept art online for a proposed replacement of the Indy Speedway at Magic Kingdom with a Meet The Robinsons attraction. You would have flown around in hovercrafts around a track that would have included indoor as well as outdoor portions.

Well I was thinking in an Epcot context, but a Robinsons transformation of the Speedway would have been nice. Hell, that whole William Joyce future aesthetic would be a nice addition for Florida's Tomorrowland in general.
